I like white ceiling fans. If you have a white ceiling they blend in. However, some people want to make more of a style statement with the fan. In that case you want a contrasting color. Look for fans with the attributes you want (size and cost) and then choose the style what's available. I will recommend a fan with a DC motor as they're quieter. If this room is done (not under construction), post a picture of it. With a picture you will get more specific suggestions.

Is the builder giving you particular models to choose from or are you buying it yourself? Is it going to be on an extension rod in a room with a high ceiling or installed close to the ceiling? Do you want something that won't be noticeable or do you want it to be part of your decor? How big is the room it's going in?

honestly, I don't think you need to rush this. you have a long way to go to decide. if the builder is pushing you, tell him to relax. ceiling fans are cheap. he can give you a credit and you can go pick your own.

What space is this going into? Do you need a light or just a fan. IMO too early to make this decision . The fan can be chosen after a while to go with your style and color scheme the electrical can be there and you add the fan later . I do not like ceiling fans in certain places like a kitchen for instance.

I wanted the most light & we were going with LED because tgst kind of where things are now, so got the most lumens ( I think), good remote control. My decor style is more traditional but such fans are not, really so I just embraced eclectic.
Agree wait until house is more complete, major furnishings/ colors chosen and you have a feel for how much you want it to blend in to ceiling vs be a wood tone, or black or bronze. Will not have all color choices in all models so you will then set priorities for color, functions, cost.

I hate fans with integrated lights. The quality of the light is, IME without exception, awful. I like a simple three bladed fan in either white or a dark color. Like this:

That’s the fan that’s going into all three bedrooms and the gym in our new place. We have a slightly more decorative (and larger) version in the living room - it has some brass accents to pick up the brass light fixture in the dining room. A a huge dark bronze one is going in on the covered porch. I generally dislike fans with more than three blades, but realize that’s a bit of a fetish.

I won’t argue against the quality of light, and it’s simply a choice depending on where installed and what works for you. Mine is also a Minka and looks almost indistinguishable from the above model. It’s in bedroom and location displaced another light so it’s just utilitarian for quick overhead light, folding laundry or packing a suitcase and not intended to replace various lamps.
I may forgo light feature in another room where less likely to be useful, or just look for style that’s not very noticeable and call it lagniappe lighting.

I seem to like minka and monte carlo fans th best . i think i will use lamps for now . once everything is togetger ho itder my fans .i was thinking too soon fir return policy might be stuck with fans i dont likr
