I hate those articles tiled along the lines of ”What you’re doing wrong with your [whatever thing you’re cooking]” and I look at them and think, but I don’t do that, I do the way you suggest is the correct way. Who would do it the other way?

Good Grief. You mean I'm supposed to wash it - and not shred my sponge, so, like 'hand wash' it? I'm doing it wrong. I put mine in the dishwasher.

I'll admit it, hand cleaning a grater is no fun, but I've done it, with no fancy expensive fruit nor ruining the germ transfer locus, er, sponge. Hot water, soapy scrubbie, in the direction opposite the grating. Easy. Pro tip? Whom are they talking to? Wasted bros in flop houses?

Been washing mine by hand all my life. Never thought there was a problem involved with it.

From another one of those click bait articles about how if you drink coffee at home instead of drinking Sbux, you'll save like $30 a week. Or if you toss junk mail right away, it won't accumulate. So helpful.

Set it outside when it’s raining.

Put in garden for mice and raccoons to clean.

Toss it into the bath with you.

Pop it into washing machine with lingerie.

Let is soak in warm soapy water the clean with scrub brush. Rinse. Dry.

Don't let your dog clean it.

FWIW, I wash everything by hand - haven't had a dishwasher for decades.

And I do not use a sponge, but a scrub brush - problem solved!

Wow, carolb--I don't have a dishwasher either. We might be the only ones in the nation.

Those who know it already ... don't need the info ... but there may be some who didn't know it and appreciate the message.

The only dishwasher I have is at the end of my arms, also, lacey, and carolb, but the "fl" and the "wv" indicate that we aren't in the same nation (as I live more or less midway between four of the Great Lakes, near London, Ontario). Probably more or less the same situation here, as well.
