Which hardwood floor?
Comments (16)If you must have gray, go as light as possible. The lack of natural light in your home will darken the floor by several steps. The lighter floor will turn darker than the darker floor simply because you don't have a lot of light. And do yourself a favour and PRIME your walls with white primer. Do that before you install the flooring. This way you will have a true sense of the colour of EVERYTHING. Right now you are seeing greige in the flooring because you have a yellow based wall colour. Before you pick a paint colour, you need to rid yourself of the existing colour. Once the existing colour is gone and the floors have been installed, you can then make paint swatches (on artists' board using tester sized tins of paint). You then MOVE the artists boards (with the paint colour on them) around your home. You leave them in each room to view the 5 times of day (early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening, night). You will quickly find out which sample board 'fails' because of the colours it will turn in different lighting situations. And if you are thinking of changing your lighting, please do it BEFORE you install the wood and before you paint the walls....See Moremost realistic LVP
Comments (3)I love the look of the integrated bevel. I sell the flooring but don't have it in my house as it came out after my hard surface flooring was installed. The bevel is personal preference. Some people love the look. Personally the only bevel I would consider is a natural/integrated bevel. Otherwise I prefer it doesn't have one. I don't believe it to be a crumb catcher. Personally, if there are crumbs on the floor, having them confined to one area isn't such a bad thing :). A bevel isn't going to cause there to be crumbs on the floor, or more crumbs. Maybe some people think they will see the crumbs easier if they are in a bevel?...See MoreFebruary 2022 Building a Home
Comments (519)@jkent9024 very cool shot. Our builder and my dh took shots of every wall in the framing phase to know where lines are etc. . They've just about finished with our exterior painting. Still have another coat to do on the trim and they are currently sanding and restaining our screened porch ceiling because somehow it didn't end up the color we had requested. @chispa Our pool contractor is on the ball and on schedule, and our pool has been filled. for almost a week. We should have been moving in in 30 days. Unfortunately the house now has 3 months to go. The first two weeks our pool contractor does a start up program but after that, we'll be taking care of a pool we can't use. There's always somebody working at the house each day, but nothing exciting happening. Some trim on the main level and as mentioned the exterior painting/staining finishing up. Painting inside should commence soon. Currenlty I'm focusing on our current home, getting it ready to list for sale on the 15th of this month. So much to do, so I haven't been online as much, but everybody's homes are looking great....See MoreCoretec Plus HD
Comments (8)I have heard that it wears great. Not my personal experience, but the feedback from a friend who has sold Coretec for years. He tells me he knows he'd hear about it if there were issues. He's encouraging me to do it for my own home. Since I know where he lives, I trust him. 🤣🤣...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
