Split level basement flooring- tile, LVP, LVT, linoleum? marmoleum?

G E
last year

I’ve been scouring the Internet and forums to try and come to a decision. We bought a house have a basement that needs new flooring. The basement is dry and got no damage even during a hurricane a few year back when most people got damage.

Either way- I don’t know what flooring to do. I want the room to act as a playroom/family room. Originally I was going to put tile. Now I’m thinking tile will be cold and hard and not inviting to kids. I have hardwood upstairs so I wasn’t crazy about the LVP idea. But now im second guessing myself. I don’t want to install something I’ll regret in a few years that will start looking cheap or dated. Any ideas and tips appreciated! For tile, I was planning on going for a creamy, off white stone type of look.
