I can't find the peony i want anywhere.. any suggestions?
Comments (13)You can try growing them from seeds. On eBay, they always have the auctions for 20 seeds, starting at 99 cents and they come in all different colors so you might find the kind that you want. They even sometimes have the one for 50 seeds at 99 cents which is harder to bid, but I've won it before a few times at the starting bid. If they are planted now, most of them will likely germinate spring of 2013, but they are very rewarding and I believe they are well worth the wait, if you have a spare garden bed or pots for them. They also have a very high germination rate. Here's my latest blog on them. Here is a link that might be useful: seedlings...See MorePainted our GR/Foyer twice now! Want modern color suggestions (pi
Comments (2)If all you have is a sofa and TV, maybe you should focus on furnishings, including area rugs and window treatments. That might influence what colors you want on the walls. But to answer your question, maybe you could pull a color from the fireplace stone? Or, gray is extremely popular now. Go to the Home Decorating forum to read lots of discussions on shades of gray that people have been using. And there is something to be said for neutral walls and great artwork....See MoreAny suggestions for color to paint a built-in dining room hutch?
Comments (12)I wanted to say that’s amazing! I agree with not painting the wood. Maybe strip it and do a light white wash or natural finish. Idk. I am not a designer just a lady who enjoys this site. Does it have lighting in the top cabinets? If not try adding lights and using them....See MoreAny suggestions on exterior neutral paint colors?
Comments (15)Sorry I didn't have the opportunity to answer last night. I think that your stone looks much less warm because of the beige currently next to the stone. Color is never isolated, it plays with the colors surrounding it. It is also better to look at color from a bit of a distance. To make your final decision, use the painted samples that you have and tape them 2 at a time to the garage door. Step back, decide which of the two you like best and then replace your least favorite with your next sample. Leave a bit of distance between the two samples. For neutrals, because their undertones can be so sneaky, I paint large samples. 12x118 or larger. I like to use 140 lb watercolor paper - it doesn't get warped and has a nice tooth to it. If it is a bit curled I place a piece of parchment over it and iron it flat. https://www.michaels.com/canson-xl-watercolor-pad/M10145805.html I would also suggest reading a review by kylie m interiors on SW gray-greige. https://www.kylieminteriors.ca/sherwin-williams-best-gray-greige-paint-colours/ Always find her advice on paint colors to be dead on. To do my own evaluation of your stone and paint colors I took a screenshot of the stone and copy/pasted it into excel. I then pulled the RGB values from the SW web site. I entered those numbers into Easy RGB and took snapshots of the convert page from Easy RGB for each color and placed it next to the stone screenshot. . Of the samples I personally like Modern Gray and Wordly Gray. I love Versatile Gray in the photo, but I tend toward taupes which means that this could go pink. The hue measurement shows that It is on the brink of having pink/purple undertones. Please understand that every computer monitor is different, so machine comparisons are never as good as real painted samples, but it can give you direction. If you like something but it is just a bit off you can use tools like Easy RGB to find a similar color that is just a little lighter, a little less green or a little more gray....See Morelacarr50
