LOL! Love your oops. I have plenty of oopses, but not dramatic enough where I remember them. I was watching a baking competition where his required cookies spread beyond recognition and he just scrapped them. I would have tasted, and if okay to eat I would have cut out the shapes. Oh! I remember one from long ago. I baked a cake recipe that was given to me by a flatmate. It was supppsed to have a layer of jam that it baked up around. Our only oven was one of those covered ring pans you put on the fire with a flue, so I was so busy adjusting for that that I totally forgot the baking powder. They turned into quite nice, chewy bar cookies with a jammy topping with just a bit of crust on top that was like a bit of melted streusel. People loved them. I did later make the original cake and it wasn't as good. :)

i mix equal amounts of ground pork, ground ham and ground beef and make ham balls. freeze ahead and pop in the oven on eating day. i freeze meatballs on a sheet pan, and, once frozen, transfer to a zip bag. ham balls are a midwestern 'food group' around the holidays, usually requested [by my family] over turkey ...

Tuna salad. I have a recipe that calls for fruit, coconut, and peanuts. With a houseful of guests I realized the recipe called for so much mayonaise the tuna was soupy. Mom told me to cook up pasta and add it. Now I use a scant amount to mayo but add the pasta anyhow and there are never leftovers.

Daughter and her family prefer ground pork for on the grill as opposed to ground beef.

i rarey buy beef anymore but do buy grass fed beef when I do.

Last evening I cooked up some grass fed beef and found it to be pretty unsatisfying. That is not always the case, but it was with this one. I just dont care for beef much at all anymore.

Oops again. It never helps when daughter buys the food and then asks me to make dinner. Yesterday afternoon I heard (bad hearing) thawed chicken thighs. Reality: boneless, skinless chicken thigh's; oven already at 400; pan ready. The thighs went onto the jellyroll pan, got salt, pepper, onion powder and a sprinkle of curry powder, and into the oven they went. We had thighs, spaghetti, sauce, and mixed vegetable. My college-age grandson declared it delicious.. That’s all that matters. 😄

My daughter is an excellent cook. She’s just taking advantage of my presence to get more work done. 👨🏻‍🍳 ( It would help if I hadn’t forgotten my hearing aides when I came for a visit. I didn’t weart them during COVID lockdown and still for get to put them in. 😄 )
