I am not an expert by any means, but I did look at both of these lines. I got to know Kemper because it's part of the MasterBrand company which sells Omega / Dynasty. I originally went in to look at Omega and Dynasty and ended up pricing out Kemper since it fell closer to my price point. When I compared these two lines - they seemed very similar in quality and cost. It seems you have found the same. The only difference I noted, was it seemed the Kemper line had a slightly better finish quality than Medallion. However, that could have been the particular stains I was comparing. Kemper has been high on my list and if you can get it with plywood construction for the same price, I would say go for that one. The only caution I would give you is to make sure you are pricing out a similar door style in each brand. I made that mistake initially. Both Kemper and Medallion offer multiple types of shaker doors and they vary in price due to the size of the rail around the door and whether you have a veneer center panel or solid wood. Another thing to consider - Thomasville, which is sold at Home Depot is the same as Kemper. It's branded specifically for Home Depot, but has the same door styles (with different names), finishes, etc. and I have read they may even be manufactured in the same building (not 100% sure of that, though). Thomasville offers full extension, soft close drawers and soft close doors as a standard - not an upgrade. Plus, with the HD pricing right now and other Thomasville incentives, the price beat Kemper when I was comparing quotes just last week. I wasn't keen on working with HD, but it would be a negotiating point for the Kemper KD to consider. FWIW - We haven't finalized our decision yet, but it looks like we may go custom and get all plywood construction and lots of extras for less than what we had seen in other lines with comparable features. If you haven't looked at local custom shops, that might be something else to consider.

We have Dynasty cabinets by Omega, painted white (oyster, with a caramel glaze, very subtle). They are not shaker style, but they are very well made, and we are extremely happy with them. Also, all dealings with the company (through our KD) were smooth and fast, and all of the cabinets were delivered on time and in excellent condition (no returns). They were packed well, and all finishes were perfect. We did add a few trim pieces, in addition to adding a banquette, and all pieces, although ordered later, arrived pretty quickly, and the finishes were consistent with the main cabinet order. We also have an alder island from Dynasty, and it is beautiful. From our experience this past summer, I would recommend Dynasty. I have no experience with Kemper. Good luck to you!

kbmas - another BM color to consider is in their new Affinity colors - it's called Mascarpone and it's just yummy! Since the rest of my house is Linen White (built in the 50's) and my kitchen is in the Dove White, I wanted to find another "warm white" that would transition between the other two - I found the Mascarpone and fell in love. BTW, with the semi-custom cabs, you *should* still be able to choose a color so push them a little! kitchenkelly - the weather here is pathetic (or should I say people's reaction to it is...) - imagine this, you wake up to 2" of slush and 37 degrees outside and they CANCEL school because driving might be *slippery* - I am not kidding. I agree with smalloldhouse on the RTA cabs. Barker might be a good quality at a cheaper price, but not a great solution if you don't have the time to assemble. My husband would have killed me if I ordered RTA cabs :) I have said this before in another post because I just researched cabs myself. It seems like there isn't a cab out there that people are not complaining about. Pick 2-3 cab makers you like, compare the specs & go for it. I read another thread where someone basically said mid grade cabs are generally the same (except for what Adorion said - make sure you are comparing apples to apples) and to buy from someone you like & will help you through the process. Not sure if that is helpful. Reading reviews for months will make you nuts and will paralyze you into no decision at all. Who knows what some of these people are doing to their cabs that are writing reviews?? I have had builder grade cabs for 20 years!! And there isn't one thing wrong with them, except that I hate them :) I know a few people who have medallion & are happy with them (except the silver line for reasons stated above), my dad got Starmark without a minute of research & they are really nice.
