I have BM White Dove on mine as well - my cabinet maker gave me the option of picking a BM color (or another company's color but then they would have color matched it in BM) - if your cabinet shop does its own spraying of the cabs, they should be able to use any product that is the right consistency for their sprayers (which is why my company uses BM - it sprays well).

kbmas, you make me blush. (Which is bad because I don't think that red blush goes with BM White Dove.)

Anyhoo, my story is like mnhockeymom (I am in MN too!) My painter only liked BM paints. My cabinetmaker made my cabinets out of maple and then the painters painted them White Dove after I copied pattytc's kitchen. pattytc's kitchen is absolutely gorgeous and for some reason not on the finished kitchen site.

The funny thing is that my GC told me to pick a "white" from BM. I looked at all the BM whites and picked White Dove after I saw pattytc's. They painted the cabinets and all trim in the house White Dove and I HATED it. Looked like I was in a blizzard which is not good in MN! (I think I cried that night.) Too white. Too stark. Too blizzard stormish. A month later after everything was progressing I started to love it. If I had to do it all over again, I would use it again.

kbmas - In my past 4 homes, I think I've used every *white* that BM offers - I have come to love White Dove because it doesn't take on a grey cast or yellow hue in different lights, but rather remains an almost pearlescent white. It can be crisp and formal and yet it can be warm and soft -- you'll love it, I'm sure!

mnhockeymom, I am in Eagan. Can't think of the cab guy's company but it was in Lakeville. How's the weather out East? Sucks here.

I thought long and hard about white but KD told me it would be too hard on the eyes looking into the kitchen from the familyroom, dining room etc.. I am in NJ so no help there

Hmm...I need to just meet with my cabinet guy. These aren't custom-custom, more like semi-custom. So I'm not sure if I have the choice of paint colors. Maybe?

we have also considered using buycabinets.com, going with the Sombersby line. I think their "white" is called pearl. I'm not sure how that compares to the White Dove.

we're getting Kemper. The colors are the same though. Pearl is what I was originally going to get but it was VERY grey when I had the sample at home and had absolutely no life to it. It definitely isn't really a soft white if that's what you're after.

kbmas - another BM color to consider is in their new Affinity colors - it's called Mascarpone and it's just yummy! Since the rest of my house is Linen White (built in the 50's) and my kitchen is in the Dove White, I wanted to find another "warm white" that would transition between the other two - I found the Mascarpone and fell in love. BTW, with the semi-custom cabs, you *should* still be able to choose a color so push them a little!

kitchenkelly - the weather here is pathetic (or should I say people's reaction to it is...) - imagine this, you wake up to 2" of slush and 37 degrees outside and they CANCEL school because driving might be *slippery* - I am not kidding. Now we're just *oh so cold* (read: 30s) and windy - heard you got dumped on today again?

Went to BM Personal Color Viewer and did a search for Mascarpone and there was no such color in the BM palate. Any more information you can share on how to find it?

jb1176 - Try the link below - it should get you to the entire Affinity Color Palette which is in the BM new Aura paint line. Mascarpone is AF-20 and looks a little yellow on my monitor compared to what it is in *real* life. Most BM dealers should have an Affinity paint deck for you to buy for $15 also. I've always been a huge historical color fan but a few years ago had become a devotee of the Devine Color paint (see www.devinecolor.com) - now, however, I've added the Aura paint and Affinity colors to my love list!!

well, i am "slumming it" with white thermofoil. ;). but, when taking a good look at the store at the tone, the guy told me it is like white dove. i was so glad because i remembered how many peole here have been happy with it!
