US Post Office experiences
Comments (17)I also have had nothing but good experiences with my POs. I have kids (and gkids) in Chicago, St. Louis, and several small towns in the midwest and mail lots of notes and packages just because it's cheap and the gkids love getting mail! Nothing has ever been misplaced or taken more than three days from my rural mailbox to the kids' mailboxes. Once I neglected to put both the stamp and a return address on a bill. Two weeks later, I got it back from the PO telling me of my errant ways. They returned it to me because of the address on my check. Amazing! I always use the PO to mail or ship everything. Well, I pay most of our bills through email now, so I guess I'm part of the problem. 43 cents to mail a letter? I can't imagine how they do it. Cracks me up to hear complaints. I'm sure mistakes happen, but, sheesh, 43¢ to mail a letter? The rest of my life should be such a bargain!...See MoreSelling BlueStar 30" Drop-In Cooktop - where to post???
Comments (10)jerzeegirl, it's funny that I have no problem selling anything else I have, but when it came to selling my BlueStar, I blanked. I first thought Craigslist, but I don't like dealing with all the scam junk mail I get from the post and I live in a small town and Craiglist really is not as effective. Ebay is next on the list which I'll be willing to ship the cooktop. Thinking of waiting until after Christmas to post it on ebay. Might not be the best time of year to expect somebody to buy a cooktop. I was hoping there was a place that most people listed their appliances, maybe a forum or something I didn't know about....See MoreNeed to Get this Off My Chest- Warning Sad Post
Comments (22)I'm with Aviolet6, why would a vet agree to the euthanasia? I had a dear friend who planned to have her cat euthanized because it peed all over her house and nothing my friend did could stop the problem. Kitty was declared healthy by our mutual vet. My friend had an animal behaviorist out to her house to help with Kitty. The peeing didn't stop. She told me she had an appointment with our vet to have Kitty euthanized. The next evening she arrived at my house in tears. Kitty was now gone but, get this, she also had her DOG euthanized at the same time because, "I don't want the responsibility any more". Oh my God! The dog was friendly, only about 8 years old and had I known she was planning on having the dog euthanized I would have gladly taken it into my family! It was as if my friend decided as long as we're getting rid of the cat we might as well make it a two-for and put the dog down too! Her decision haunts me to this day. I would SO have adopted her dog. I had no clue she was going to do this. She never complained about that dog. I had such a hard time consoling her over her "loss" because I did not agree with what she did. And I have to wonder what went through our vet's head to euthanize a perfectly healthy dog simply because the owner "didn't want the responsibility". Kessala...See MoreForgot to put my mask on going into the post office yesterday!
Comments (27)I dashed into Walgreen's the other day to ask whether they had any rubbing alcohol (they did,) paid for it and suddenly realized I didn't have a mask on! I was so shocked and apologized profusely--the sweet clerk should have said something. Luckily there was no one in that area of the store and it was just in front of the door, but I sure was embarrassed. Let me make a correction from above: almost everyone wears their masks correctly in the Bay Area--we are used to it now. My kids wear masks on the trail because it is not wide enough to comfortable separate while passing. Raye, we didn't wear masks in those early months of Jan and Feb as there was little covid to spread at that time, except in NY. The lack of masks (mistaken protocol and very bad leadership and example from the top,) in March and April caused many more to sicken....See Morelittlebug Zone 5 Missouri
