I think it looks great, but would remove the shutters completely.

I also think there’s a better front door color out there, the current color kind of gets lost. Maybe a burnt orange, a green, etc? Something stronger and deeper in tone.

I agree with Jinx. The shutters don’t really do much. The back of the house looks great!

I know you mentioned not changing the garage door. Right now it’s pulling a lot of focus, at least for me. Painting it the same color as the siding would help with that. Keep the focus more on your front/entry area. The front door colors from Jinx would be a good start. Maybe some pots with colorful blooms, too.

IMO the garage door is the odd guy out and since it is so forward of the house I would do one with windows and keep it the same color as the house . Then come spring get to work on some interesting landscaping. I say remove the shutters for sure.. I think the idea of the front door color willinstantly waken up the entry > BTW I always like a walkway from the stree to the front door it is much more welcoming that that little path from the driveway so think about that for the spring too.

The shutters are the wrong size for the windows. The color looks great. The front door doesn't go well with the body or the garage door. I like the idea of coral or pumpkin. You need a warm, earthy color with that gray.

Paint garage door to match siding color. Orange door is something to think about.

Thank you all for your suggestions. So far there is agreement on changing both the front and garage doors. Trying to keep those the same but obviously not good choices with my paint color.

Anyone willing to entertain thought on reverse color on front of house? That is, white body and gray on trim. We have been considering replacing the single hung windows with longer set of 3 casement windows. They could easily be bumped out to soffit and add extra foot or so on each side. The extra width with cedar siding to tie to garage door. More work but could this idea result in better curb appeal?

I'm seeing similar ideas on new builds in our area.

I like your gray, the front just need a little help to makeit stand out.

- install a larger sconce above the garage door and the front door, yours are much too small

- You can also add an architectural element above the garage door

- Remove all shutters and intall wide white trim around the windows and doors

- The colour of your door doesn't stand out, repaint something brighter, it looks dark in that corner

- I know it's now fall but a flower bed with white, pink, yellow flowers )(instead of shrubs) would increase curb appeal. White hydrangeas in the mix would also be nice if that works where you live..

- Install large white address numbers

- Have light coloured pots (white or light concrete) with colourful flowers at your front door

- Your garage door seems to be wood so I left it as is

I would keep the colour of the body of the house the same all around.

The windows on the white house above are black. Are you willing - able to do that?

Yes, if that is best. However, I  wondered about adding wide cedar shutters to tie to the garage door. Same with porch deck.

Like these shutters or maybe vertical slats.

No reverse color. A house should be the same color all the way around, since it has the same siding. Reverse color would look like you painted the front of the house, but, didnt care enough to finish painting. I dont mind shutters on your house, but, they should be wider. Yours are very narrow. A colorful door would add considerable. I like the idea of the orange. Pots of flowers and some landscaping done, and the house will be beautiful. I would paint your garage door the same color as the house itself.

I appreciate your helpful comments. All the newer builds with fronts different than sides also have different materials on the front than the sides. An observation that I hoped didn't matter. :o/

I had considered the need for a transition, such as stone siding on sides of garage. But hoping there was a simpler, less expensive way to create the same look.

As per your request, here is your house with a white body, black trim, and wood shutters.

Personally, I prefer the house with the gray body and white trim and I don't think it's a good idea to only have the front of the house with the white body.
