Furniture (Sofa, Chairs) Quality?
Comments (1)there is an old saying: There are no miracles. Good quality furniture is and will always be expensive. Unfortunately, there is some bad furniture that is also expensive. Try to stay away from made in china. European, latin american and american made tend to be much better quality. In my opinion, italians are the very best for leather sofa. What price are you looking at? I may have some tips. You can pm....See MoreSouthern Furniture Co. or Southern Style Fine Furniture quality?
Comments (12)If you have the chance to buy one of their pieces, you should! I bought a sofa and loveseat at Macy's in 2002 made by Southern (for $1400 on clearance!!). It has lasted thru two little kids and all their friends as the primary family room set, two standard poodles, and two cats. Not only do we still have the set, the seat cushions are still completely puffy! We regularly remove the covers on the cushions and wash them (they are chenille) and they don't shrink, fade, and have just now developed a slight hole along a back seam. While the set looks somewhat dated and I'd like to replace them, I just can't get past having to pay $4000 for a comparable set that will probably only hold up for two or three years. Ours are still insanely comfortable and a quality I haven't seen in modern furniture stores (Lee, Rowe, Restoration Hardware, etc). Southern still makes the sofa set I have, only now it is upholstered in linen. My husband just said to buy from them again or have someone slipcover it in a heavy linen. I wish I could find a dealer by me in Florida! And trust me, I've tried....See MoreHuntington House Furniture Poor Quality Sofa
Comments (4)Without seeing the pictures, im guessing it could be more of a fabric problem than a manufacturing defect with the sofa construction. Was the fabric from Huntington House, or you supplied your own fabric? What type or content is the fabric? On semi-attached pillow back sofa, their is more pressure on the seam where the pillow is sewn into the back. Their is really no way you can top stitch to re-inforce the seam. But I have not seen this happen very often, only in fabrics not strong enough to be used for upholstery. The store you purchased from should help you in resolving this problem....See MoreNorwalk furniture quality/curved sofa
Comments (6)My springs failed, and they will do nothing about it. Also, my some of the plastic welting (which I had never heard of before - - I thought welting was cotton...) is poking through the fabric. They will replace those - but since my fabric is discontinued, I can't have that remedied either (unless I want mismatched cushions!). I LOVE the style, and I love how it fit in my room. But I thought it would last longer......See Morela_la Girl
