A FB question, can you still access the "snooze for 30 days" feature?

If you happen to still use facebook, have you not been able to access the "snooze for 30 days" feature since about a week ago? I asked on FB and many of my friends replied that they also do not have this choice in the ... drop-down for each post. I use this a lot because a couple of groups that I am a member of post very often and it monopolizes my newsfeed. I don't want to discontinue being a member because I find the group interesting. There was always the option to snooze the group or person for 30 days which was very helpful. Has anyone found a workaround for this issue? I have tried to "unfollow" those groups but that did not stop the unwanted newsfeed posts. Strange...

I'm finding the exact same thing, Ark Girl. I've got a couple of groups that are totally flooding my feed. Unfollow doesn't even work. They still show up.

I can snooze individuals, but not groups or businesses.

I noticed that the snooze for 30 days option was gone yesterday and not listed today.

Great question - we evaluated the same thing at a meeting with our landscape architect, designer, and architect. All three agreed that in their experience, people rarely use them - but I thought that the rationale mentioned by some of the posts above were good. We ultimately decided against putting in a door leading to the outside in our master, both for security reasons and because we did not want dogs or kids going from pool, to back yard, to master bedroom. We are not coffee drinkers, so we will not have a coffee maker in the room; our dog sleeps in a crate, so he is not in the bedroom. The one thing that we thought about very carefully was fire safety; we wondered whether it would be good to have a door in case of fire. But, thinking it through, if there were a fire we would be focused on getting the kids out, and would probably not be thinking about getting ourselves out of the master bedroom outside door.

Steph, if you have issues with plumbing, is it the supply water failing? Is it the sewer line failing? Just which side of your system is not dependable? Why I ask, have you ever thought about a COMPOSTING TOILET? I bet it would work in your situation VERY well. I'm told that if I want one, to go ahead and get it for my garage redo, but don't tell anyone. A lot of communities object to having them around. Not being that familiar with their operation, I could not say...but I'm always interested in doing something out of step with the ordinary, maybe more eco-friendly, especially water saving. In your case, water is as precious as gold. In my case, I'm loving my new "future" master suite as soon as I can take a bath in the clawfoot tub. And hang my clothes in the new walk in closet. My future mini project is to add a window seat and tall cabs either side of it, in the dining room. LOTS of places to put kitchen stuff then, and file drawers under the seat too. This will make the dining room more functional. After that gets done, I think we'll be looking at a kitchen redo. Then the garage redo. Might contract for both of those jobs at one time, with the contractor who is doing such a good job on our tub/closet bumpout now. My DH trusts his work from all the pictures I've sent him as work progresses.

I've often heard you should NOT respond to any of the sayings, cartoons, questions or other mass-generated things on Facebook. I never respond to anything like that. I do reply to posts and LIKE things someone has posted, but none of the other stuff. I also never LIKE a business or anything that has an icon saying LIKE US ON FACEBOOK. You lose a lot of your privacy by doing that. Not saying that you don't lose SOME anyway...

Me too gls! Ok. Been thinking 🤔. Here’s a new twist on Miss K’s layout. The BIG new idea with Option 5 is to put her desk at foot of the bed! I put small stool or chair there but you could get a desk chair that doubles as a reading/guest chair (far left corner) to provide both options with minimal use of floor space. All the other furniture pieces are merely for basic sizing. It will all depend on budget and what we can find out in the markets! I think you can get a 48” wide x 24-48” desk which would be quite nice for laptop and papers and book or two. Enjoy.

I can't even snooze individuals either. BTW, I'm using the PC with Windows 10 and Firefox. I did try to see if it was available using the phone app but it was the same, MISSING!

Same problem. I used it a couple of weeks ago and then couldn't find it this week.

I did kind of find a work-around for this issue. OK so if you can go to FB on your phone, it seems to behave differently. You can click the three dots "..." that is in the upper right hand corner of a post of the group or person you were trying to snooze, now click the hide option that is a little x next to the word "hide", at that point options for different snoozing will pop up and you can snooze there. Then when you go to FB on your computer, it will still be snoozed for 30 days.

All this being said, I am using an Android phone with Android 11 and browsing FB with firefox.

Hope this helps someone! It is so nice not to have a zillion posts popping up in my newsfeed from my old hometown's FB page!

Just to let you all know, it appears that the feature is finally back. I hope it stays this time!
