off topic - major pet food recall
Comments (59)I'm feeding my cat Purina and so far none of their catfood is on the list as far as I know. But they just added Purina's Alpo (dogfood) and they already had another kind of their dogfood on there. I also heard that the first kind of dry food has appeared on the list...can't remember what, but it wasn't a Purina product. I'm getting paranoid about this and am considering switching to the kitty foods at the health food stores or something. My congressman is going to get a letter about this mess! And I think everyone who loves their pets should do that also. I love my kitties and every time I buy catfood I think...could this kill them? Could it make them sick? It should never have happened! Sooo entirely preventable! If I had known that the petfood companies allowed stuff from China in their products, I'd have realized how dangerous that would be and I'm not a genius. Now, why didn't THEY know? Or DID THEY KNOW?...See MoreMore recalls tonight
Comments (24)As a Diamond distributer we got a letter from Diamond that unknown to them American Nutrition put rice gluten in some of their products and they recalled these. UNKNOWN TO THEM! I can hardly belive that! We distribute Diamond because they told us they make their own products, they don't. boopadaboo, I was driving down the highway the other day and thought about the recall and all the animals people love and gave them the best they could give them. I thought about you and Sadie, it was as if my heart was breaking I started crying and just couldn't stop, well I did stop my truck and just sat on the side of the highway and cried. It is sad enough knowing about the cats and dogs not valued but I always thought when they get their good home they will be safe. We are so powerless. There is someway we can take our power back from the companies that are controling our food supply, by making them accountable. It is only about money for them....See Morepimento cheese
Comments (27)Annie - Price's seems to be everywhere. I find it too sweet for my tastes, too. (My birth certificate my say NC, but I think my taste buds came from somewhere out west. I like sweets, just not in my savory foods.) The Price Pepper Jack spread isn't bad, though. (And I like sweet tea, but I'm thinking more along lines of half a cup sugar to gallon -- and I make my tea really strong. You could read the paper through my sister's tea...more like simple syrup than a beverage.) ) David - something I saw a lot growing up was celery stuffed with PC. And my dad could sit down with a box of crackers and a crock of PC and consider it a meal. The best PC I ever had was at Second Nature Cafe in Raleigh. It's not there anymore. I had a hard time finding Duke's even in KY. Food Lion was the only store than carried it, And as Teresa says, "no sugar, never has, never will". LOL! DH hates mayo, but even he will tolerate Duke's in tuna or chicken salad. I've had to go back to buying Best out here (which is Hellman's on the east coast.) I guess MW has its place for some folks, but putting it on my sandwich, looking me in the eye and saying "Oh, yes, it's mayonaise" is like trying to pass off kethcup as cocktail sauce....See MoreDo You Have A Favorite Cheese ?
Comments (48)Sue, I like cottage cheese, too. When I lived in IN we used to get a brand called "Michigan Brand" or something like that. Have you had it? It tastes a lot like homemade. Don't have it down here, but I wish they did. Chisue, we usually do that pizza from leftover crab legs and I won't let Harry anywhere near them because I don't want any yucky shell in it. He's not so careful about it. C'mon down--I'll share! :-)...See More- 3 years agolast modified: 3 years ago
