Help! Stub out 1” higher than disposal drain

last year

We are remodeling our kitchen and misjudged the required height of our stub out for our kitchen sink. The disposal discharge is about an inch HIGHER than the stub out. 😬 We have a 10” deep sink and bought a compact disposal.

First, does anyone have a drain that is slightly higher than their disposal, and has it caused any problems with the water not draining from the garbage disposal or other issues?

Alternatively, has anyone found a garbage disposal with a very high discharge—less than six inches from the top? The models we have found are 6” and you need to add 1/2 inch for the stainless sink we have.

We know lowering the the waste drain to the right height is optimal. Our cabinets, counters, and sink are in already. Our sink is in a corner cabinet with windows on the sides, and the drain runs horizontally in the wall. So we can’t lower the existing drain without going through the outside wall. We are considering running a new pipe up from the basement through the bottom of the cabinet though if that’s the best/only solution.

Any helpful comments are appreciated.
