We’re going to frame out the porch and add framing to existing posts. Also, new cement stairs and walkway.

Is there a window in the bath on that front wall?

How are you insulating the floor? Will the flooring system there now support the fixtures (including water)? How will you insure the plumbing will not freeze? Your current roof structure appears to have a fairly significant sag, why is that and has that been or is it being addressed?

The interior part of the bathroom addition has been completed. Framing and insulation was done so was the plumbing and electrical. The sag will be addressed when we do the new framing of porch and porch ceiling.

We’re still debating on adding window.

The Houzz folks are posing some good questions about the feasibility of your addition - adequate structural support, insulation, etc. I would definitely listen to them. Would also check with your local building department about applicable local codes and interpretation of the International Residential Code. Good luck!

Framing, Elec

Framing, Electrical and Plumbing permits were all pulled and we passed all inspections. House was completely gutted.

I'd add a window, but I think I'd go with as similar siding as you can get. I think if you did something different, like shingles, it might look odd. If you were adding symmetrically, it might make more sense to do something different.

You should be able to get siding the same width.

We are leaning towards adding a window. i wish we would have done it before completing the interior phase if the addition. 🤦‍♀️
