second flush of habs?

I grow sweet banana peppers every year. The harvest is pretty much continual throughout the summer. For the last two years, I've been growing Habanadas (sorry, hot pepper afficionados, these are mild versions of Habanaeros - capsicum chinense). But the life cycle seems rather different from other peppers. Now, I have a long growing season. I plant them out in March, and get a big harvest in July. Then nothing but foliage. Then in August, BOOM! loads of flowers, and in September, the plant is loaded with a second flush of peppers, which will get harvested next month.

Is this a regular property of capsicum chinense? Two big flushes of peppers each summer season?
