I‘m currently shopping for a new rug for my living area. I have an open concept condo and the kitchen is right on the edge of the living area as you can see in the photo. In terms of furniture, im keeping the sectional but replacing the coffee table with a smaller round one and will be mounting the TV eventually and replacing the stand.

I’m not sure what size rug to go for or even how to place it e.g shoukd it sit between the pillars or in front? There is only 9.5 feet between the pillars. (i have currently taped off 8 x 10 that could only work if placed in front of the pillars but it seems too large? )
