HELP!!! New home: Need so much new stuff and area rug help!
Comments (22)Home Interiors & Jodie White, Sorry guys. I'm new to this. Obviously, i need to create an Ideabook! I tend to go more towards muted brown, red, yellow/gold, rust colors (in past), but open to other somewhat neutral palettes. I actually love the console, but was considering an antique cream color (if I could make that work?). My tastes tend to be traditional, rustic, a little farmhouse (pottery barn, restoration hardware, ballard designs) but with so many current needs, all those in a TIGHT budget! Aktillery9, i do like all of those looks. My husband did just tell me, due to wiring, there is chance we may not be able to mount on flat wall as i hoped, so i may be forced to go back to corner console again. :( When I get a chance, I'll post some of my fav looks....See Moreplease suggest curtain and rug for my Family room.
Comments (18)I happened to notice your dining room rug and I'm sorry to say it's much too small. The rug should be large enough so that you when you stand up and pull the chairs back the chairs are still on the rug. This will also give more emphasis to this area as a room instead of just a small space. I would wait, however, until you've chosen your living room rug so that the two rugs will be complementary in color and style. The size of the living room rug, by the way, should also have a very generous size. I would personally choose plain white or cream colored curtains, or curtains with a subtle pattern and color if your carpet and pillows are colorful and you put wall art in this room (which it needs). With the darker patterned curtains your eyes will go straight toward the windows, whereas the attention should be directed to the room itself....See MoreNeed Help Choosing Rug for Family Room
Comments (2)Hi! The image isn't a picture of the exact room, but is similar. The room does already have carpet, which is similar to the image, but perhaps a bit more of a tan. I still want to add a rug to tie the room together a bit. Appreciate you taking a look!...See Morecarpet and rug suggestions to warm up these rooms, dining and family
Comments (16)When I was looking for rugs a few years back I really liked some of the colorful striped rugs by Dash and Albert: https://annieselke.com/Rugs/Shop-Rugs-By-Material/All-Rugs-By-Material/Cotton-Rugs/c/cotton-area-rugs I think you need some color interjected into your home. You have some blue going on with the sofa, and orange splash with that box (?) in the dining area. Blue and orange go great together! Add more of it! Here are more colorful selections: https://annieselke.com/Rugs/Shop-Rugs-By-Material/All-Rugs-By-Material/Cotton-Rugs/c/cotton-area-rugs?q=%3Acolors%3Amulti Here's one that's not too extreme but brings a bit of orange in: https://annieselke.com/Rugs/Stone-Soup-Woven-Cotton-Rug/p/RDA019 You can put one of each in the L/R and D/R, or complement it in one of the spaces with this one - perhaps in the D/R as it wouldn't show stains so much: https://annieselke.com/Rugs/Gypsy-Stripe-Woven-Cotton-Rug/p/RDA404 The four chairs as someone mentioned is a bit crowded. Do you have room to add one in a corner of your D/R? And/or perhaps in your kitchen? (I love having a comfy chair in my kitchen!). Would be a way of having them still, but not having them all together - they're a bit big for that. Add some colorful artwork too! Perhaps some colorful curtains. Color is key to adding a bit of zip and zing to your place. Good luck!...See MoreRelated Professionals
