Haha! I had forgotten about the little pots! It also came in a stick form.

I remember it too-- but never wore it. It looks like Clinique brought the color back in a gloss wand. They also still carry the blushes I wore a billion years ago.. Plum Gorgeous and Clover, i think? Something with Clover in the name.

I have seen people rave about Elf products but I have never used one.

Tina Marie thanks for the info on the Black Honey Dupe. I still have the clinique silver wand and wear it often. Mtn. I forgot about tge little green pots. My coworker once was putting it in her cheeks as she thought it was blush.

I love tinted lip balm so much that I almost never wear lipstick anymore. Does the Elf product have any lasting power, or do you feel like you need to reapply really often? (either because the color faded, or lips feel dry?)

I've actually only worn it once, just to see if the color was the same as Black Honey. I would say it needs reapplying as it is glossy. I will probably use lip stain. I love lip stain and it is very long wearing and you can wear it with or without gloss over. The Elf product has a conditioner "core" so my lips felt very good after wearing it.

Tina Marie thanks for the make up tips. what lip stain do you wear? i am very fair and really need color on my lips or I look gastly! i think a stain would work nicely for me i did order the Elf lip in Lovely.

I too would like a lip stain, preferably one that doesn’t make my lips look like this.

Any long lasting lip stain I use wears off right in the middle when I eat, it doesn't matter how well exfoliated/conditioned my lips are. Most of them were so hard to remove and reapply, too inconvenient to do in the middle of the day.

I love Revlon Kiss Balm, which is sheer enough I can apply w/o a mirror, leaves a subtle blush that lasts a few hours and is easy to wipe off and reapply. It's a very subtle stain, but the color and moisturization is longer lasting than any other tinted balm I've tried.

Sorry to be so late answering @Cran! I am like you, I am fair, and I also have pale lips. A bit of color works wonders! For those who haven't used lip stain, it's a liquid. Usually comes with a sponge applicator. There are some stains which can be used for lips and/or cheeks. My very favorite is ELF in dewy berry. Too funny that I just recommended the ELF gloss and now the stain. I don't think I've ever looked at ELF makeup in the drugstore, but see these things recommended online and must try. I love their lip stain. I also like Benefit brand which is one that is cheek/lip, but I only use on lips. Stains are extremely long wearing. If I don't take the ELF off with cleanser before bed, it will still be there in the morning albeit lighter. Kissing, eating, drinking, etc. doesn't bother it. I put the stain on and then blot my lips as it feels a bit thick. I usually do this twice. Sometimes I will wear a gloss over the stain, and this will cause the stain to not be long wearing. Easy to reapply. @Sueb20 i'm assuming you mean a stain that puffs your lips up? Neither of the stains I mention does this. Try a stain! I had never used them till a couple of years ago and the Elf is one of my go-to lip products.

Thank you for the recommendations. I have a difficult time finding lip color where I like the color, it lasts and it does not chap my lips. I do like the Black Honey color, and could use a new balm so I will give this a try.

I went to my local Target yesterday looking for the ELF lip color. Normally, my Target has a good stock of ELF products, but yesterday the shelves were decimated and there was no Hydrating Core Lip Shine in any color. I did see the ELF lip stain, but didn't purchase because I wanted to read some reviews of it first - now I'll have to go back for it!

I see the Elf is infused with rosewater. Does it have a rose scent?

I like Neutrogena's lip balm in Fresh Plum, but I'm not crazy about the oval tube.

Is anyone familiar with Fresh?

Kiehl's had a great one at that price. Sadly, it was discontinued during the pandemic. Fortunately, I still have a new tube of Touch of Berry.

If you can't find the ELF balm at Target, try Ulta. They have been better stocked these days. They charge a little more, but you can sign up for coupons.

I've been looking for a tinted lip balm--thanks for the Elf and Burt's Bees recommendations. I don't care for lipstick and only wear it a few times a year. I like some color, but I certainly don't need anything that lasts more than a few hours. After I drink/eat in public, I'm always prepared to reapply. I had a BB lip balm pre-Covid and really liked it.

I have fine hair, and have been using a hair care line from my stylist that's very good but pricey. I ran out a few months ago, and it wasn't convenient at the time to get more. In a pinch, I bought this Pacifica Vegan Silk shampoo and the conditioner from Target. They are great products for my hair, and I now rotate them with the more expensive stuff from my stylist.

The burts bees tinted balm feels nice, but the color is extremely minimal and (at least for me) lasts less than an hour. I felt like I had to constantly reapply.

Another tinted lip balm that I like is Chapstick Total Hydration, which comes in several shades.
