Let's see...I'll cut and paste here from something I've sent out before. I'll leave some of the text in that you might not need in case someone else reading this could use it. First of all, as you've figured out already, your pictures have to come from an outside source; you can't upload directly from your files. I can tell you about Photobucket, which I joined. (I am not at all tech savay by the way). I'm going to assume you go to Photobucket's site and join there. It seemed really easy for me to click and set up my first album, and think you'll find the same. When you do this, on the right of the screen is a place to upload your pictures. Just click on "Brouse" there and find your picture in your computer files. Double click and the picture will appear in your Photobucket album lower on that same screen. To add a picture here then, (it's easiest if both Photobucket and the Forum are open on your desktop)... in your Photobucket album just left click on the third item below your picture which is the HTML code. You will see that it says "copied". Then go to the post you are typing in the forum, put your curser where you want the picture in your text, and hit "paste". You will see what looks like gibberish, but when you go to "preview message" and look at the message as it will be sent, the photo has magically appeared! Then submit the message. The only problem I had was that my photo files were too big for Photobucket to accept. (They were huge)I solved that by inserting the pics in an email to myself, and then copying the new pics into my files. (You may have smaller pics to start with or a program that lets you resize your pics easily. I hope this helps! Daisy!

I see the dreaded root rot has occurred at your house. I agree that you may be able to save this plant. When this happens to me, I first remove all the dead and mushy roots, and closely examine the stem. Remove any stem that is brown and mushy, and just keep working your way up the stem until you have green stem. I then place the crown into some nice warm water to re-hydrate it, along with any of the leaves you picked off. I find it helps to take off leaves until you have maybe three rows, so the crown can focus more energy on growing new roots. Scrape any leaf callousses off the stem, place into 1-1-1 mix, and bag it. Bagging, or any method you choose, helps keep the humidity high and the crown hydrated. Keep under bright light but out of direct sun. In a couple of weeks it should have re-rooted. Barbara

Krista, I doubt you did anything wrong and think it likely that it is just the wind causing the issues. The wind here just isn't kind to anything these days....(sigh).....or most days. I usually don't stake bush beans, though at some times in the past I did so to keep them up off the ground. My ultimate solution was to plant more of them and plant them more closely together so they all hold each other up. That's one way to deal with it. They'll still produce fine even if lying flat on the ground, but when they fall over and lie on the ground, pests can climb onto the plants more easily. Bean plants that are lying on the ground also are more prone to foliar diseases. You can help prevent that by mulching the ground around them so that when it rains, the raindrops don't splash disease microorganisms up from the soil onto the plants. Now, as time goes on if you get all leaf and no flowers or beans that could be a sign of too much nitrogen in the soil, but if that is an issue, only time will tell. Sometimes the plants just make such good growth after rainfall or irrigation that they get topheavy and fall over. As the season goes on and the main stems get stronger, they usually won't fall over as much. I try to plant the bush beans in an area where they get some wind protection, but depending on how open your garden is to wind, that's not always a possibility if you're on flat, exposed land with nothing around to serve as a wind break. Plant them deeper. Tree peonies are just the opposite of herbaceous peonies when it come to planting depth. You should plant the graft at least 7 to 10 inches deep. You want the tree peony to build its own roots and for the nurse root to die off after the tree peony gets established. Make sure they get enough water and give them some shade if they are in the full sun. Don't be feeding them a lot of fertilizer, just make sure you have good garden dirt with a lot of compost mixed it. Good luck. Diann
