Attaching Recessed Lights

One of our recessed lights went out, so I pulled it out to replace it. However, I can't get it back in because the casing is too far away. We double dry walled our ceiling for an air gap for sound absorbtion, but the light casing was attached to the second ceiling. Thus, the clips aren't catching and the light is not going all the way up.

Here are some pictures of what's going on. These lights were all installed at 5000k, so I want to change all the lights. I want to be able to get this one light back in before I change all the lights in our house to something warmer (we have close to 100 recessed lights). The rubber band was my attempt to get all the clips close together so that it would push up into its home.

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
