Anyone Watch AGT Last Night?

Loved the Mayyas...beautiful dance
Loved Drake Milligan although I felt he was a little rushed
Enjoyed Metaphysics..they are so creative
Wasn't crazy about Chapel Heart. Good song but they seemed nervous and off key.
Everyone else was OK

Drake sang the same song. He didn't take-a-chance we wouldn't like another new song. I thought that was a bad move.

Chapel Hart....ALL 3 of them were off key. That was an AWFUL performance. Having a good back story won't win a competition! So disappointed.

The Mayyas....not as good as their first performance.....they need more than one good routine.

Metaphysic was VERY entertaining....because the rest were so bad? Or......it was humorous to see Heidi & Sophia squirm....so funny! I was bored by 8pm...falling asleep....again.

I think the ventriloquist is VERY talented.....but I'm not really liking her stage set-ups.

The sax player is pretty good. Kenny G went a long way with just a sax.....

I do ventriloquism and agree about her. She's good but didn't like the whole ghost opera thing.

Didn't think the comedian was that funny. He'd probably do great at 70s style routine. Reminded me of Sly from Sly and Family Stone...lol.

I wonder what happened to Nick? Anyone know? He did such a good job on that show, so talented, and I loved the way he would get on the stage and 'rescue' a contestant when things got too awkward. Wonder if Tyra will be able to do that. I'd never even heard of Tyra Banks before, don't think I was missing much. To me it seemed like she was trying to imitate Nick's expressions, reactions, etc., but it didn't come across as very natural. I missed his antics a lot. But I love the show more than I disliked Tyra, so I will get used to her. I hope. The chicken surprised me, I thought it was a definite buzzer act, but it was pretty good once it decided to do its thing. It will be interesting to see how they upgrade that act for the next level. Just how entertaining and talented can a chicken be? ? ? I'm with Simon on the clowns, I most definitely do NOT like them! And I thought Puddles deserved the buzzers he got! But that voice was a big surprise! And the brother-sister dance team! Wow! How in the world can anyone spin that much that fast and not be falling down dizzy? Rusty

Joann_fl, I have wondered the same thing. Seems like it almost has to be she is wearing everything in layers, It would have to be very thin light weight material that is strategically folded. Her constant movement and watching for the next 'outfit' would detract from noticing that she gets thinner as the act continues. She is the best quick change artist I've ever seen (not that I've seen very many), and I was fascinated the first time I saw her. But I doubt I'd be interested in watching her for more than a few minutes. And if my 'theory' is anywhere close to correct, her acts would be pretty limited as to length of time. Yes, I watched it last night. And laughed till I had tears running down my face over that last act. Or rather, the way the last act ended. The act itself wasn't all that great. That guy usually isn't. It didn't start over again here, it was followed by a new program. Think it was called 'Snake in the Grass' or something like that. I didn't watch it, I'm not into snakes or survivalist programs, or whatever it was. Rusty

Over all, I thought it was a fantastic show, although I missed a couple of the acts, the ventriloquist and the sax player, not sure if I missed anyone else or not. I recorded it, so I might skim through it later today to see what I missed.

Drake brought the house down! I was surprised he sang his audition song, but I agree with Simon, it was a good move. It's a durned good song and it hit #1 on some charts after his audition.

Chapel Hart, yes, a disappointing performance. And the music so overpowered them, I couldn't understand most of the words to their song Again, I agree with Simon, it would have been nice if he could have had them sing it acapella. It was one of their original songs, and I think there were some beautiful lyrics hiding in there amongst all the glitz and glam and noise. But whether they win or not, they've made a pretty big splash in the country music world now and hopefully they can take that chance and run with it.

The Mayyas are beautiful, but I think that type of act would be pretty limited as where and how often it can be performed.

Those are my three favorites.

What Metaphysic does is interesting and unique, but their act last night was boring, probably because their Elvis was so bad and we've had more than enough of Simon singing.

Okay, that's my personal, unprofessional and wordy opinions (not that I am very opiniated or anything) (grin)

I want metaphysics to win although I liked the Brazilian ventriloquist, the Asian magician, and the pole dancer. Mayyas are wonderful but there is only so much they can do. I don't like country music so not Chapel Hill for me and Drake already is a star for those who like that.

Rusty...yes theirElvis wasn't the best singer but graphics are cool. Wish they would have done Frank Sinatra Dean Martin or Tony Bennett.

Did y'all watch the results last night? (I thought it better to revive this thread rather than start another one.)

I was so anxious to see the results I had a hard time sitting through all the preliminary acts. And most of them were pretty durned good!

The biggest surprise to me was the pole dancer. She is really unique (at least I think she is, I know nothing about what is normal for pole dancers), and I liked her appearance and demeanor.

I was also surprised Chapel Hart finished as far down the line as they did.

I'm kind of disappointed Drake Milligan didn't win, but he's a winner, regardless. And this experience and exposure will give his career a big boost.

I felt sorry for the sax player, he looked either upset or mad, not sure which. And I really thought the comedian Mike E Winfield, would end up in the top three.

There was a lot of exceptional talent this year, hopefully they will all benefit from the experience!

I didn't think the comedian would do that well. Not that funny to me. I never like Chapel Hill and Drake already has a record contract. The pole dancer and the Mayyas were my second/ third and I wanted Metaphysics to win. The stupid part of this show and it always happens, is they wait until the last second to announce, credits roll no one can interview the winners or get the judges' reaction. Every year this happens.

Yeah...I agree....all that build up...then we don't get the judges reaction...or the winners reaction. I want to see the top two RUN out to see the NEW car they won. Just another 5 minutes to get some closure.....

Loved the Myyas & Drake, I really thought the Avery would win but was rooting for Drake. I did not like Chapel Heart much and they were off key last night.

I wanted either Drake or the Mayyas to win so was happy in the end. was shocked Drake was 3rd. Thought he was better then pole dancer.

Yes...Avery seemed mad about not winning but he is talented.

I also enjoyed seeing Darci and Terry. Now they are talented and class acts.

As for ending....if producers didn't make Terry wait so darn long to announce names they could have a good 5 to 10 minutes for judges reactions and comments.
