Anyone watch AGT last night?

Looks like another incredible season coming up! Some amazing (and some not so much) talent. My favorite was Darci Lynn Farmer, a 12 YO singing ventriloquist. She absolutely stunned everyone the minute her dummy, "Petunia" opened its mouth! So glad she got a Golden Buzzer! Yes! Great acts last night....even the chicken! I was skeptical of the clown.....loved his voice tho!

I thought most acts were mediocre except the little girl ventriloquist who was outstanding. Glad she got the golden buzzer. I miss Nick. Tyra can't take his place.

Darci was my favorite too, it will take a lot to top her!

I don't like clowns and was ready to flip the channel when he walked on stage, but WOW, glad I didn't. Totally unexpected!

I also like the magician who did the card trick.

I like Tyra, but I too missed Nick.

Thank you for your kind comments! She is a sweetheart. She's lived in Paris her whole life but because my brother is American, she is completely and seamlessly bilingual. She has been studying acting for a while, but this is her big break. I've got my fingers crossed for her!

i strongly agree with virgil about the real work done on these shoes i have to say, i really hope they change hgtv shows. i know theres a thread somewhere on here all about hgtv but im sick and done with the fake happy couples who happen to mysteriously have ginormous amounts of money to flip and renovate homes into ugly houses for the fools who are on the show its the same s*it all over and over day after day, just different couples doing the same decorating and "designing" when we know all the TRUE work is done by engineers, architects, contractors, plumbers, electricians, handymen, house stagers and interior designers who work with them. you know....the little people

Joann_fl, I have wondered the same thing. Seems like it almost has to be she is wearing everything in layers, It would have to be very thin light weight material that is strategically folded. Her constant movement and watching for the next 'outfit' would detract from noticing that she gets thinner as the act continues. She is the best quick change artist I've ever seen (not that I've seen very many), and I was fascinated the first time I saw her. But I doubt I'd be interested in watching her for more than a few minutes. And if my 'theory' is anywhere close to correct, her acts would be pretty limited as to length of time. I have to admit, I agreed with Simon on the X for the Ukranian couple, I didn't like the act at all. The man's flexibility, contortionism, or whatever it's called, is absolutely incredible! I just didn't like the act, the way it was presented. And I don't know why, it was original, contortionists usually perform alone, so that in itself was unique. But for some reason, it's very hard for me to watch when someone twists their body all around like that, it hurts. It will be interesting to see what they do next. Rusty

Deliberately didn't watch it last night because I can't stand Tyra Banks.

I read not too long ago that there is already a lawsuit filed against Tyra for the way she treated a child who was on the show. Apparently the show is going to edit out as much as they can before her appearance is shown, but some of it will make it to air.

Also heard that Tyra is doing well as the new host, except that there is concern as to what will happen when they get to the live shows because Tyra often needs more than one "take" to get it right.

Saw the last half hour. Darci was great!

Miss Nick - he was such a good host.

AGT and BGT are two shows I really enjoy watching. Glad they've both started their new season.

That chicken was so funny! Not a big fan of Tyra but I love the show so have to overlook her I guess. Puddles was looking like a thumbs down until he stared singing. Darci was a doll!!

I wonder what happened to Nick? Anyone know? He did such a good job on that show, so talented, and I loved the way he would get on the stage and 'rescue' a contestant when things got too awkward. Wonder if Tyra will be able to do that. I'd never even heard of Tyra Banks before, don't think I was missing much. To me it seemed like she was trying to imitate Nick's expressions, reactions, etc., but it didn't come across as very natural. I missed his antics a lot. But I love the show more than I disliked Tyra, so I will get used to her. I hope.

The chicken surprised me, I thought it was a definite buzzer act, but it was pretty good once it decided to do its thing. It will be interesting to see how they upgrade that act for the next level. Just how entertaining and talented can a chicken be? ? ?

I'm with Simon on the clowns, I most definitely do NOT like them! And I thought Puddles deserved the buzzers he got! But that voice was a big surprise!

And the brother-sister dance team! Wow! How in the world can anyone spin that much that fast and not be falling down dizzy?

Don't watch much TV ... and don't know whether this "AGT" is available in Canada ...

... but, to me, who worked in Alberta for a while, over 30 years ago ...

..."AGT" means "Alberta Government Telephones".

I can't say I have any love for ventriloquism (it seems scary/weird to me) but I teared up over lovely little Darci's performance which someone posted on Facebook. Incredible!

LOL OJ! In this case "AGT" means America's Got Talent. I have no idea whether it is available in Canada or not.

I thought Nick added so much to that show. I don't see that with Tyra although this is the first time I've ever seen her.

I thought Tyra did an ok job. And I agree with Emory, not a big fan of ventriloquism. She was cute though. And the clown guy....creepy. He has a good voice, needs to ditch the costume.

Nick Cannon did a Showtime Comedy Special and NBC had some issues with a joke he told on the show. Nick felt the network didn't have the right to censor him when he is doing things not connected to AGT. So, he left.
