Comments (5)Thank you for your kind comments! She is a sweetheart. She's lived in Paris her whole life but because my brother is American, she is completely and seamlessly bilingual. She has been studying acting for a while, but this is her big break. I've got my fingers crossed for her!...See MoreDid anyone watch HGTV: Drew's Honeymoon House last night?
Comments (55)i strongly agree with virgil about the real work done on these shoes i have to say, i really hope they change hgtv shows. i know theres a thread somewhere on here all about hgtv but im sick and done with the fake happy couples who happen to mysteriously have ginormous amounts of money to flip and renovate homes into ugly houses for the fools who are on the show its the same s*it all over and over day after day, just different couples doing the same decorating and "designing" when we know all the TRUE work is done by engineers, architects, contractors, plumbers, electricians, handymen, house stagers and interior designers who work with them. you know....the little people...See MoreAGT Auditions last night
Comments (14)Nicole? ? ? Why or who are you asking? While I admired her ("Nightbirde's") attitude and courage, I wasn't all that impressed with her performance. But that's just my personal taste in music. A few years ago the million dollar winner was a little girl that plunked on an ukulele and sang her own original songs in a weak, scrawny voice. I thought she was terrible, but apparently the general population watching AGT thought she was sensational. So obviously my opinion of vocalists doesn't mean anything. I really prefer to see other types of acts, there are other shows for vocalists. I like to think that even though I may not like a particular song or artist, I can recognize when they have talent. I do think Nightbirde has talent, but I sure didn't think the kid with the uke did. I'm sure that many of the really good acts get picked up, so the speak, and offered gigs that help them forge a career in show business. A lot of them deserve it. But NOT that middle aged 'boy band'! :^) Rusty...See MoreDid anyone watch The Gilded Age last night on HBO?
Comments (7)Schoolhouse - I'll watch it all and hope that as the season develops it improves. Perhaps we're getting a condensed version since this season is only 10 episodes. The producers are hoping the ratings will be high enough to warrant a renewal. It wasn't bad and perhaps I should have added that I've read Edith Wharton and Henry James many times over the years and I may have been expecting the finesse and subtlety that are evident in their works. To be honest that isn't a fair comparison. I've always been fascinated by 'Novels of Manners' - The Age of Innocence, the Forsyth Saga, Jane Austen's works etc and really enjoyed shows like Downton Abbey, Upstairs, Downstairs. The premise holds true - The Gilded Age , especially in the Northeast, was a time of rigid social constraints where one's wealth and social standing determined your future. Gizmo - A few years ago I had the opportunity to spend a wonderful afternoon in the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum. I knew about the infamous art thefts but I wasn't aware of her personal history. Thanks for the background. Maire...See MoreRusty
