What colour door? What colour fence? Please help!
We recently bought a house with copper roofing. the house was white, and the siding was old and cracking. we replaced the siding with blue. The existing front door, has been spray painted copper. It is cracking and fading. i am not sure if a brand new door is in the budget before spring, and I think all white may be too ”in your face” but its a small house.
would u go with a solid door? Glass inserts?
also, it has a side fence jn the drive way, it does provide privacy and hides all the compost and garbage bins. what colour woukd u paint it? or change it? it is stained presently?
any help is appreciated!

Comments (19)I just wanted to update my post with a final decision. They pressed us for a stain choice two months ago and they JUST STAINED IT ON THURSDAY! How's that for urgency? Anyway, after much thought and consideration we went with Minwax Walnut gel stain for the front door. Thanks to all who offered thoughts and opinions. I think it turned out beautiful. Comments (8)Lovely home (& landscaping)! Grey and black would be too "expected" for me. Being from SC, I'm particularly fond of Charleston Green - it's a very dark, almost black/green. However, eggplant could be rather exciting - you'd probably want it fairly dark as not to read purple. Comments (1)It may be expensive, but I think painting the stucco white would totally transform the house. Then you could paint the wood frames of the windows the same color as the steel door and it would flow very nicely. It won't be cheap, but it will be worth it. Comments (6)I'm no expert but I think you're right, you probably want to keep the garage door matched closely to the brick around it so you don't highlight the garage. I think the bright white on the front door looks nice but maybe to make to stand out more a different color would be fun, but yeah, not red, lol! On the paint sample strip from which you chose the blue, paint the fence a darker shade from it.Do some plantings along the fence.
Paint the shed roof awning white like the trim.
For now just paint the door white in a gloss finish.
