Design Dilemma entry Flooring

Should I use the same tile in Kitchen and Entry?

I love my kitchen tile. They are large grey and semi glossy. Now I need to choose tile for my two entryways, and I’m not sure if I should use the same tile or something new. I want to create a more contemporary look. I was considering black hex tiles in the entry, or even the same tile that we used in the kitchen. What do you think? Do you have a better idea?

I'm not a fan of tiled front entries, unless you live in a Spanish Revival home. Why not extend the hardwood into the front entry hall? Then add a nice rug/runner for depth and color.

If the second entry is in the rear, then sure, use the same tile as what you've got in the kitchen.

I have an older house and there is tile already in the entry areas. I just thought it would be easier to retile than try to find matching wood. I have wood floors throughout my house.

can i use the same exact floor tiles for my backsplash? There's no mechanical reason why you can't. Matter of fact, I've done it before. It's all up to you. As for picking a basksplash design, the only limitation is your imagination. Especially if you're doing it yourself, where the labor is free, you can even cut the floor tile down into smaller tiles, such as 4x4, 6x6, 4x8, or 3x6, and get all KINDS of design crazy with it!! It all depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.

I would go with something close in color to the background of the laundry tile. Using that for all the small areas in question will keep it less choppy.

Thank you! Our plan is to do hardwood floor in the kitchen. The kitchen is part of a great room that also has dining/family/living room and we’d like that entire space to be hardwood. Original owners did tile (the same in the entry) in the kitchen area and carpet in the rest of the great room. When you’re in the great room, you only see a sliver of the entry.

Retiling involves removing the old tile so not a big deal to replace with wood and I agree the same tile in the back entry as the kitchen and if you isiast on tile in the main entry then the same again.

I wouldn't use black in any area that gets lots of foot traffic - much prefer the kitchen tile.

Your floors look like white oak to me. Shouldn't be a problem to match them at all.

continue the same wood and do not do tile. it‘s a richer upscale look.

I would remove rest of old walls n til cmatch the hardwood and use kitchen tile at backdoor area

I'd put hardwood in that other entry where there's about 20 tiles.
