Soap dish on quartzite?

We have a raised square dish we keep our liquid hand soap and dishwashing liquid on. Sits right on the quartzite. I thought because it was raised we wouldn't have a problem. I was cleaning the other day and there is a small gray stain under it that won't come off. It has lightened over the last few days, but it is still there. What or how do you keep your products to prevent this?

@tarhlfan, are the counters quartz or quartzite?

Get through the counter dispensers. A fabricator can come and make new holes in your countertops to install the dispensers.

I have an in counter dispenser for hand soap and I keep a small refillable bottle of dawn on a small magnetic shelf inside the sink. Nothing on the counter to clutter or stain it!

Sounds like scale build-up. You can buy scale remover or use vinegar. You could use the same idea of soaking a towel in the scale remover or vinegar and leave it over night. I would use some old rag that you can just throw away and probably cotton would be best if you choose to use that scale remover which is kind of strong. Vinegar will probably not harm a cloth. This may take a few times to get it all. But if it's hard and sharp that would most likely be scale from your water. We have scale in our water and vinegar gets it off. It can also build up on the shower head and cause the water to not come out very good, you can put vinegar in a baggie and put it on the shower head and use some tape to hold it there over night. It will be clean in the morning!

I have the Simple human dish soap dispensers. I use them for dish soap and hand soap. They work perfectly well. There are two styles and I have both styles. Good luck!

I love my Never MT. We built a new house and put one in each bathroom, where I use hand soap(softsoap) and in the kitchen where I use dish soap. The only problem I've had is that in one bathroom, I had to replace the Never MT...it leaked at the valve. This has happened twice. But it's still worth it. Actually the first one was replaced by the manufacturer after 6 months use.

I store my liguid soap bottle (small refillable) in back right corner of the sink on the sink grates.

Soap dispenser in counter. soap is soap. i still don’t understand why people need 5 different kinds.

Dawn is great for very dirty hands, but takes too long to rinse off for most quick hand washing that takes place throughout the day, so we have dye/perfume free Method hand soap for that. I don't think that adds up to 5! lol

A recent post by @sabigabatini asked for pros and cons of in-counter soap dispensers vs separate bottles. A few times in that thread a reason given to have an in-counter soap dispenser was to prevent what you are experiencing. Yet people on that thread continued to tout the soap bottle or tray on the faucet deck, and would not be swayed. I’ll provide the link below.

@tarhlfan - what about getting a counter fabricator to come cut a hole and install an in-counter soap dispenser? I think you’ll get frustrated with a magnetic holder in the sink. They tend to slip down.
