I fixed my sister up on a blind date with a guy from another town.He didnt want to get serious neither did she.Well,,,they married and had two kids but there was turmoil from the start.After about 20 years of marriage it ended in a horrible divorce. She was tired of supporting him and didnt care to support his laziness for the rest of her life.She gave him the 5 bedroom house and many other things and she moved into a tiny rental.SHE owns a biz and when they went to court the judge made her pay 1500 a month alimony to HIM!!!!! She was diagnosed with MS and is trying to get the alimony reduced but the lawyer says he(lawyer) has MS too and its no big deal! Oh the lawyer is a relative to EX husband. She is going back to court soon pray that an honest judge will help her out. Thats my story,I guess it could have had a happier ending,Im sure some do. I just pray my sister get some happiness and health back in her life.

Fishes, There is basically not a single best fit answer for everyone. Do you know about the quality of your water? What do you want to filter? In our case we have very hard water and a very high level of nitrates and phosphates as some of the city source is well water. So we are going with the K5 reverse osmosis system by kinetico..same as Beekeeper'swife. More expensive but we need it. Our softened water will feed it and I hope to get a drinking water faucet in the prep sink and also feed the pot filler. The K5 system can be installed in the attic and feed the storage tank(which incidentally is bigger in kinetico). I am actually not doing any ice maker. Decided to buy ice instead as we use ice rarely and the ice maker takes too much room in the sub zero freezer drawer. I am tempted by the instant hot (it would be lovely to quickly grab green tea when I am busy during the day but Then with the induction, it does seem a bit much. Lalitha Lalitha

Jenny, Any update on what you ended up doing? I installed a whole house softener for hard water issues, but I have odor issues (sulfur and chlorine mostly). I'm leaning toward adding a charcoal filter before the softener. We also have RO in the kitchen and wet bars. Also, you could always just have another hole drilled for the RO faucet without replacing the granite slab. If you have an undermounted sink, the new hole is all you need. What did you end up doing?

I still always bristle to hear rooms called 'grandma'.; using grandma as a pejorative...as far as the autumnal colors, the naturalness of such a palette is relaxing to me, and why I've used such warm colors in parts of my home. Including, in one room, pine paneling, floral curtains (once the new windows are in) and the warm, gentle, autumnal colors. Frankly, I am increasingly really appreciating decorating, in any palette, that embraces comfort and unpretentiousness, and doesn't have to 'wow', perform or impress. One might think this is a result of my grandma stage of life, but I began leaning in this direction since my late 40's. BTW MTN, IMO the chair's teal frames appear to reference the wall color in your photo of the TB interior above.
