Help with house paint colors for orangish roof

Hi, we are starting to plan for a remodel of our house and want to repaint it. We are having a hard time with what is the right color given the roof color. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are hoping to get a more modern look.

First show use how the exterior is being changed the roof looks more brown to me . paint color is the last choice you make both inside and outside . So give us some idea of what you are plannong and ideally some drawings of those plans

I think you need to stick with darker or cooler colors. Beige and green don't go with light gray too well. I'd try a blue gray color with the white trim, or I think maybe even paint the house white and have dark gray trim with black shutters. How old is your roof? If it needs to be replaced soon, maybe you can just hold off and repaint once you get a new roof. Just remember to not get a roof in a trendy color - go with a dark brown or a very dark gray - goes with everything.

Oh and I should add that this isn’t how the landscaping currently looks. We had just removed overgrown bushes, which have now been replaced. This is just the only photo I have on hand at the moment.

I don't understand your post. You are remodeling the house and want to choose a paint color first? What is happening with the remodel?

I love that updated railing lisedv posted. I like to pull colors from the landscaping for house colors. Perhaps some of the colors will give you inspiration. The SW Basque Green sample is one of my favorites. Is that number 5 painted on your balcony railing your house number? if so, I would play that up with an oversized number to the left of the garage.

@lisedv - that looks amazing! how did you mock that up?

Below are some more pictures of the house from the side that is left of the garage, which is where the front door is. We are remodeling the inside and want to repaint the outside in the process and make it look more modern. Other than that - we don't have major changes planned to the exterior but are not opposed to them. We had considered possibly changing the deck railing above the garage.

Select a paint color from natural that will fit into the natural surroundings.

I really like the first and last samples from BeverlyFLDeziner’s post. They both have a green undertone and go very well together. Although the first one appears dark, it can appear up to 30% lighter in the sun.
