Well...I slept like a baby! First night we both have slept through the night in...well, months for me and years for DH! I was so cozy on my side! I have been sleeping on the couch for the last month because my hips would ache on the old mattress, but still had to flip from one end of the couch to the other because of the aches and my arm going numb and tingling....not last night. I woke up once and realized I was in the same position I fell asleep in and went right back to sleep. DH is always up and down all night long..tossing and turning. He slept all night....what a huge difference. I was prrety skeptical at first and debated getting one. I finally just did it! I am so happy with it so far. Makes me want to go back to bed! If this continues it's well worth the money. We had a waterbed for 25 years or more...then went to a memory foam (cheaper version of the good one) and then a regular mattress. Although I loved my waterbed it was bothering DH's back the older he got and we had to move on :O( Keeping my fingers crossed that this is the one!

We've had our sleep number bed for two years now and we couldn't be happier. My DH would be happy sleeping on the hardwood floor and I like a slightly softer setting, so this was the only bed we could come up with that would make both of us happy. It's not uncommon for one or both of us to sigh and say something like "I love this bed" when we crawl in at night. Its the most comfortable thing either one of us have ever slept on. As for the heat retention, my dh sleeps incredibly hot and he doesn't seem to have any problems with it. We do have to change out the 700 fill down comforter for something a little lighter in the summer, but the bed itself doesn't seem to make either one of us too hot. Bri

We bought one after DH back surgery 2 yrs ago and we are very happy with it. It does not feel like a conventional air mattress at all. We are lucky enough to have a Select Comfort store here so we were able to really look it over to see how it worked, how it is constructed and lay on it before committing. The trick is to fill the mattress up to 100 (as firm as possible)- then as you lay in your preferred position, let the air out until it is comfortable. I sleep on my side and find that I donâÂÂt have issues with my arm getting all tingly and numb. I recommended it to my folks for their RV (because it is so light weight). Mom says that she always thought her hips were just going to ache forever because of age, they donâÂÂt ache any more. Dad & I both agree that even though we have no back/hip issues it is more comfortable than other mattresses and we feel better rested in the morning. I find that in any position, even on my stomach with a pillow for reading, my back does not hurt. There is a 30 day return policy, but you have to pay for shipping (comes unassembled in 2 big boxes.) Forget about the accessories they offer (mattress pad, pillows, sheets) you can do better at Kohls. Also, the mattress is supposed to be supported on a hard platform. They will sell you a big plastic box to substitute for your box spring (seemed silly to me). We kept our box spring because it only has 1" of padding so it was pretty hard. I expect that if the underlayment of the mattress is not good, than it will not perform as well. The prices are in line with other mattresses depending on what sort of bells and whistles you want. We got the first step up that has 1â mattress pad and the numbered remote- My folks got the base model for the RV & house. We are all happy and well rested. We did look into a Temperpedic (latex mattress) and was told by the back doctor that it is NOT good for people with back issues.

Nutsaboutplants, I barely notice that the mattress hangs out on bit on either side! (And your bed is really pretty too). I figure that I usually keep a bulky comforter folded at the bottom of our bed anyways & that always hangs out beyond the footboard of our current King and I can 'mask' the headboard overhang w/ strategically placed pillows. Thanks for posting the pic it really helped a lot! The pineapple finial is missing from the headboard and 3 of the wheels are missing. DH is getting a finial for me & sorting through his piles of furniture junk leftovers at the shop for 3 wheels but we probably won't use the wheels. As much as I love to see old wheels on furniture it just doesn't seem sturdy enough for a bed that sleeps 2 adults. I think that I'm going to paint it a high gloss white. Mr. Fox said that I can't swap out the king for the queen until we're closer to getting the house on the market but I don't know..........I'm very excited about the prospect now!!!!! Thank you!
