Full vs. Full/Queen Bedding
Comments (0)Does anyone have a good source for FULL size quilts? I have a full size bed in our house, that is sometimes used by guests. I have been looking high and low for full quilts - not full/queen. I like a quilt to hang down on the sides just a couple of inches over the top of the box spring, not almost to the floor, as when using a full/queen. Only occasionally do I find a full quilt that is approx. 86 x 86. Thanks !...See MoreQueen Duvet on Full/Queen Comforter
Comments (1)I am dealing with this same problem right now. My comforter is 86 x 86. The Resto duvet I bought a few years ago is woefully large and it looks terrible. I know I should have at it with the sewing machine...someday. Looking around for a white duvet (which I think I want for staging my house) I notice that most are larger than the comforter itself. (Why can't there be a universal size for these things??) I spoke with Garnet Hill and their queen duvet is 84 x 84. Perfect! Rep explained that by being just a bit smaller, the comforter fills out the cover nicely and looks puffy. Now there is the issue of overhang. If I had to do it over again, I might get a King and have more coverage. But then it would be harder to stick my foot out the side to regulate my temperature at night! And the queen is probably easier to shake out while making the bed in the am....See MoreGuest room queen vs. king bed?
Comments (57)I like all of your upholstered choices shown. I think they will work nicely with your desk and do have an elegant feel, although I've always been partial to iron beds. If you're still looking at iron beds I can recommend Charles P Rogers. Great customer service and my daybed is high quality with a beautiful hand painted finish, much like the antique iron bed I have in DD"s room. I had a Wesley Allen and have seen RH beds - all nice but they don't seem to be as heavy and sturdy as my Charles P Rogers bed. Another iron bed company I'm interested in is Brass Beds of Virginia but I haven't seen those in person....See MoreWill a queen comforter fit inside a full duvet cover?
Comments (32)I’m another one who loves the look of the elaborate layered beds, and they LOOK so cozy, but I find simpler bedding to be not only easier but more comfortable. A little while back I eliminated the top sheet and now I just use a bottom sheet and a comforter in a duvet cover that gets changed with my sheets. A few sleeping pillows and I’m all set. But I admit that changing a king-sized duvet cover is a pain. With a queen size, I could kind of shake to comforter into the cover, but with a king size, I have to practically climb into the thing....See Moresjhockeyfan325
