Is this light fixture big enough for my foyer?
Comments (1)You haven't provided all the details of your foyer, so just note that with this fixture, if you can look down into your foyer from the second floor, you're likely going to be looking at the bare light bulbs in this fixture because this fixture allows some of the light to reflect up as well as down. This drawing is rough because I'm guessing on heights and details in your foyer. Here is a link that might help you select and hang the fixture. Comments (13)@bh401 - Thanks for adding my pictures. I tried - but as you can see, the best I could get were the links posted. Is there an FAQ somewhere with instructions on how to insert pictures to a post? To everyone... thanks so much for all the advice. I really like all five of the options (though #5 is probably the most 'out there' for me). My favorite at the moment is #2 - but I agree that I am not sure how the brown silk shades will work with the colors in that room. #1 - I am a bit afraid of the cream color shade against all the white trim. #3 - Seems a bit too minimalist and #4 is still a strong contender. I am seriously tempted to just order both #1 and #4 so that I can see them in person and make a decision. I really need to choose so I can move on to the bathroom light, and then the cabinet hardware, and undercabinet lighting followed by the fabric for the window seat cushions, and then window treatments... :-)...See Morenew colors - pics
Comments (8)magothyrivergirl ... Thanks. I read that post and it's very helpful. I appreciate the "cleaning your brushes" link on there too:) I've finished two chairs with waterlox (just using an old t-shirt) and now I am in the process of refinishing our DR table. I am using waterlox with miniwax red mahogany stain. It's looking good. I love buying unfinished wood furniture and staining it with waterlox. For me it's the only reliable way to buy real all-wood furniture. Waterox finish is easy, very practical with 2 toddlers, and beautiful. We'll be using it on our floors too. I'll try posting photos when I am done:)...See MoreLight fixture sizing
Comments (1)The swag can be eliminated. by removing the chain and using cord cover to neatly line it to the ceiling. perhaps the issue is not the scale but the fact that the lights are too similar. That being said, the style you are copying would have had a lot of swag fixtures. the entry light really doesnt have the "entry" feel. The other thing is the walls are bare so righ now you can only really look at the lights. A globe light at entry would fit the bill and make the dining fixture stand out....See MoreKaren
