Comments (13)Thanks Nicole - we are on the same page even if it doesn't seem so! LOL I know the difference between the two. I know the S&S has free shipping, a lower price, etc. I realize it is only certain items also. And yes, I would still save with a few items, I guess I should have worded that differently. It would not be a substantial savings for us. A dollar saved is a dollar saved, I'm just not sure if I want to do the S&S for a very few items that I can get quite conveniently here. I haven't taken the time to go back and look at more items, but I am going to do that before deciding. I referred to Amazon Prime again because you had mentioned it. I know what it is and don't use it because I don't buy enough from Amazon to make it worthwhile. Anele - thanks for mentioning that Prime can be shared - but I can't think of anyone right off to share the service with. I really do prefer to shop local but thought I might order some basic household supplies and pet supplies thorugh the S&S. I still may give it a try! I can cancel at any time, so why not? Thanks for trying to set me straight LOL. tina...See MoreAnyone subscribe to AskArt? Need favor...
Comments (8)Well hey, walkin--nice to see you pass through even if you can't help directly -- it's just nice to know you care :) lynn, hey, you want to split a membership? :) Do they have an entry for "group membership for the terminally 'frugal'"? And Thanks, Jodi! I found that too but of course you know I want to know...um...what that one piece they have on record went for :) I'm sure it's not much, but a girl gets curious... And amy, correct as always :). I also found some classic Oregon art pottery there today by Wally Schwab. I MUST stop (sure...with things like this waiting for me--yesterday I found an amazing, masterful opalescent gold/purple inside/crimson rim ribbed blown, signed glass vase--I should take pics. It's just incredible, the art around here). The Jennison is such a darling little picture -- I have it just to the right of my head, up against the wall. It's a little owl with huge eyes, peering out of a hole in a tree trunk. In oil pastel. In a simple very cool mitered walnut frame with an offwhite mat and nonglare glass. Her signature is in small opaque white caps, very easy to read. It's in a group display with two serigraphs, one huge, one smaller, that I got from my favorite gallery as well :)--all of them have a dominant vertical orientation to tie them together. Yes, I'm hopeless. :)...See Morequestion for Netflix subscribers
Comments (21)We may want to re-think our whole system before just adding to it. Fewer people -- especially young 'uns -- are buying cable or satelite packages. Today's Chicago Tribune has a Business Section story about a new DVR option from TiVo: The Roamio OTA. It can record 75 hours of high-def programing. You can access over-the-air broadcasts and stream Netflix and YouTube. It is NOT compatible with cable services. TiVo is betting that more people will 'cut the cable (or dish) to use streaming and a HD antenna to access programs. The device is $50, and it's $15/month for service. TiVo pioneered the DVR in 1999. Early models could record OTA (Over The Air). Then they made cable/dish-connected DVRs. Now they are offering this -- for aerial and/or streaming only -- no cable/satelite connections. (Back to the Future?) I'd love to eliminate our $100/month DirecTV bill. Is this my chance? (Couldn't do it earlier because we record/watch everything but the news.)...See MoreSubscribe to news of ISHS rose 2017 to know the latest informations. P
Comments (2)If you are not familiar with meeting abstracts. What they contain varies from being a "promissory note", through a works in progress, to an actual abstract of a submitted research paper. (A "promissory note" is often used to get admitted to the program and/or to get travel money.)...See More- 4 years ago
