@georgia: Toto has a new "modern" style that doesn't have that look. It's much thinner and when you combine it with the Connect Plus Toto toilets, it doesn't have the bulky look you seem to be describing. Also you can buy fully integrated lines - the least expensive one is more or less the same price as a top of the line washlet and toilet. So essentially it would be form over function in terms of having to transfer to a separate unit to wash. I am thinking of those times when I have to shuffle a few steps because someone forgot to load toilet paper - wouldn't it be the equivalent? In terms of my own bathroom, it's moot as I wouldn't have space for two separate units but am curious as to why it's preferred if one had the choice of integrated or two separate units.

I believe mirrors started being used as wall hangings when the intent was to "double" another view, say the outdoors through a window or double doors. So if what is reflected on your mirror is juist ceiling, maybe it wasn't the best wall hanging choice. Oh, but they make them so pretty these days, they are hard to resist. Yours is def. gorgeous. Back to mirror orientation, I didn't realize that you were planning on adding light sconces. And why would you do that? b/c you need to fill up lateral space. Precisely the reason why placed horizontally has been so popular here. It fills up the space that needs to be filled. Additionally, with that pretty, blingy chandy, won't sconces be distracting? You seem to have pretty sleek, non-cutesy taste. I think sconces might be too much, esp. if you don't need extra illumination.

Looking at your first picture with tile on the floor - and unless it's an optical illusion -- it looks like there is a fair amount of tile bowing, which will cause lippage regardless of how they are laid or what the overlap pattern is. There is only so much that can be done to resolve this even using levelers. Have you checked the tiles thoroughly to see if this is an issue? You can check for flatness/warping easily by taking two tiles, placing them face-to-face, and seeing if there is any rocking or if there are gaps where you can see daylight when looking from the side.
