Baby trees skipping winter (aka what the heck do I do with these??)
Comments (2)Don't leave them in water, or in the house, and they do need dormancy. At this point I would suggest putting them into pots with mulch, rather than soil, outside where they will get rain or snow on them, if dry out, keep barely moist. You can put several in the same pot. If it gets too far below freezing there, you can put that pot into a larger pot with more mulch in between. The mulch will allow them to stay dormant and protect the roots from freezing hard or rotting from lack of air. Wait to plant in soil, one to a pot (or in the ground if thawed) when the buds begin to swell in early spring. I have similar saplings in 6" pots in soil that have made it through two winters down to about 17F with no trouble....See MoreHey you guys should I put an arch out here?
Comments (19)Oh wow you guys thanks for all the ideas! Moses I'm not good about planning ahead, I should probably try it sometime so my yard doesn't look so cracked out :). Mad, you are right about the bench - I think one that's comfy would be bigger and sit in front. I remember April's post - been in the back of my head, I just loved the look of it and would love to have my yard look even half so nice. Summer I love the idea of the posts. One of my challenges is planting strategically to avoid the dogs trampling things, the posts would be great....See MoreHelp- what do I put here?
Comments (10)The tile installer should have used matching caulk, which is flexible, but he took the easy way out and used grout, which is brittle and crumbled. Use painting tape to protect the tile and counter and apply a bead of waterproof caulk, using a narrow rip opening to force it into the crack. Smooth it and remove the tape....See MoreWhat what WHAT kind of table do I put here?
Comments (64)This is a lovely room! In a small space continuity is important. Before you add or paint anything else, paint the daybed and both chairs a dark brown, British Colonial as mentioned above. This way you can add the color you want here and there. The table in front of the daybed needs to be higher, like a tea table height. Use the chest on the side. To make the daybed more comfy, add old fashioned wedge pillows across the back and then the big pillows on top. They are the best support and you won't even see them. https://www.amazon.com/Bolster-Replacement-Insert-Cushion-Perfect/dp/B011CZWYT6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542001435&sr=8-3&keywords=wedge+daybed+pillow&dpID=41J6VtPqM6L&preST=SY300_QL70&dpSrc=srch...See Morelekennedy4
