My new favorite vegetable, the Rutabaga!
Comments (16)Your method of preparing them looks tasty. I have always had Rutabaga growing up and I prepare them fairly simply. Cut into a half inch dice. And boil in water - but I add a little salt and a little sugar to the water. This gets cooked into the veg and the sugar especially helps to mellow out any strong or bitter flavor that may be there. Then I just add some butter and milk and stir. You can actually mash them if you'd like, but I find that stirring them causes the dice to fall apart enough, so that you wind up with a sort of chunky mash. Serve it the same way you would a mashed potato or sweet potato. Taste is something in between....See MoreCrop pants: are they out of style?
Comments (32)Guess I'm "Donny Downer" on this! (...what with my Mr. Blackwell qualifications and all...;-)) I've never cared for the look of "shorter" pants on Women. Even if Heidi Klum had them on, it wouldn't do much for me! DD has a couple pair that I can "tolerate", but she's 5'10" and usually wears high-heels with them. I'm 6'3", and she's starin'-me-in-the-eye with heels on! Still...not my favorite look...Sorry! Faron...See MoreWhite stains appearing on my black pants after a week in a closet
Comments (323)I'm glad I found this forum. This is literally the only thing I found that directly addresses this problem. I knew I couldn't be the only one. Since I switched to using shea body butters, I've been having this issue. After some research, I think I found a solution that has been working so far: Tide Hygienic Clean Heavy 10x Duty Liquid Laundry Detergent & Nature's Miracle Laundry Boost. I chose these two based on reviews that stated how well they work on oil stains. So, I put my clothes on the soak cycle in the washer (using these two products) and let it sit for most of the day (about 6-8 hours) in hot water. Then I wash on the longest cycle in hot water. So far, I have not been getting the white residue after several days like before. I also tried this method with Oxiclean (swapped it for the Nature's Miracle), and it worked pretty well too. A couple of shirts had a small dusting of white residue after a few days that I could easily brush off. Also, I make sure to loosely load my washer; I use around a medium load for a large wash cycle. I'm going to experiment with warm water to see if I can save some energy and help decrease the fading over time. And possibly see if it works without soaking....See MoreDo you wear white pants???
Comments (27)Mine are a LEE brand I usually do petite's but got the medium in these, being a bit longer they cover my one veiny leg better. They are stretch and have some thing in the pockets that is supposed to instanly slim me. I did not notice it and I did look at my behind from behind:) It is what it is:) I do not wear long tops they make me look too dumpy or should I say dumpier~~on What Not to Wear they tell not to wear them too long so I don't anymore and I think they may be right. I am going to go check out the Spanx stuff at Nordie's I have always wanted some....See Moresalonva
