The grunge art and the granny curtains don't suit, but I like your bed and wardrobe. It looks like an overload of stuff for a small bedroom; the bed and wardrobe are going to eat a lot of floor space. I would eliminate the wallpaper if keeping the painted furniture piece. Best bedside tables or chests should reach mattress height. Care to share your floor plan, measurements and photos of the actual room you're putting together?

I love the use of teal and wood - not sure about the striped bedding - were you going to use that or is the picture just to show the bed?

Since you're doing this yourself, start with the major pieces and then layer the other elements, giving yourself an opportunity to pare back if you end up with too much pattern. How much is too much is up to you of course.

Those drapes do not work at all with the bedding do nix the drapes. IMO too many things for a small space I would start with the bed and the bedding then take pics and come back here for the next steps I think the bed is very simple and there is nothing wrong with simple lamps bedding and then choose wall paper but I need to see the beginning of the space and that is the bed and bedding you love.

I would get the bed and bedding, and then make decisions on next purchases. (Post pics of the room with those items.) The size of the room, will matter - as well as the layout, so best to start with fewer pieces. Of all that you have shown, I REALLY dislike the curtains.

Get blue brocade curtains and get down with your maximalist self! Seems like you have a great eye!

For sure do not get those blue curtains with the two layers.

They look old lady-ish.

You are much better of getting a light ivory very simple neutral curtain.

If you need to block the light, you can get curtains lined with black out material.

In a small space, less is more.

Also, "less is more" is more sophisticated too.

I am not in favor of accent walls of color or wall paper.

To me they are the choice of people who don't know how to choose art.

I would also not choose that nightstand, it is way busy, and you may get very tired of it.

What you can do if you love that sort of design, is find that type of design in a peel and stick wall paper and create for yourself a sizable but inexpensive "triptych" and frame it in attractive but reasonably priced frames you pick up somewhere. Or even use the very inexpensive styrofoam molding you can buy on Amazon that looks just like wood.

Then as time goes on if your tastes change, you can easily change out the print for something else.

You could certainly paint your place any shade of blue/teal you like and pick whatever color linens you like.

I would get less specific lamps for the same reason as I stated about your nightstand.

It is not that desirable to be too "theme-y" in decor.

Your chosen hamper is nice, but don't you want to keep it in your closet anyway?

It is a good idea to have touches of black in a decor with a lot of blue, black grounds it, otherwise all blue seems too ethereal.

However that bed seems very ponderous relative to the look you are going for.

I am wondering if you can maximize the storage in your closets and your storage units you are buying so that you can buy a bed that does not have those storage units below the bed that make the bed look rather ungraceful.

Is your choice of the upholstered bed with drawers beneath it a consequence of your need for additional storage? To simplify things, I would opt for a mattress on a frame with a headboard that can be slip covered. That way, as your taste changes, you can change the appearance of the headboard. Under bed storage drawers can be placed beneath the mattress frame. A way of optimizing storage without committing to a bed at this point. Just a suggestion.
