How to introduce acid to clean irrigation system

Tom VZ
last year

I've seen it recommended to clean your drip irrigation tubing periodically with an acid solution. However everything I've seen seems to relate to large-scale systems with pumps and reservoirs with which you can mix in the acid.

I have a small system running off a hose from my household faucet and I'm looking for a good convenient way to apply an acid solution. I'm thinking about those sprayers you can get with a little reservoir. You screw them onto your hose and spray a solution. Something like that would be good, but it would have to have an outlet that would take a hose fitting (which is on the inlet to my irrigation system). I haven't been able to find anything like that. Does anyone have any suggestions for this?
