Has he been to a podiatrist?

Just cut off his toe nails, that should do it :-) If you cut off his toes, that will give him balance issues...

Well, don't be so sure it is his nails that are cutting the sheet because I have worn out a couple of bottom sheets on MY SIDE and NEVER sleep without socks on. My husband's side doesn't ripe and he never wears any socks, wouldn't hear of it and his toe nails are a bit on the long side before he trims them. I think it may have more to do with moving your feet around when you sleep because my sheet isn't being torn by my nails at all.

May not be his toenails, It could be dry callous feet and heels. Just saying..... I did the same thing to my sheets, and it was because of my callous heels. Took care of that so not an issue anymore.

Maybe he dreams of running from someone who wants to dismember him.

I was puzzled to see small rips in the sheet on my side but soon realized the culprit was the ankle bracelet I didn't bother to remove at bedtime.

Podiatrist, no.

Declawing, hmmm, not a bad idea!

Lose his balance, hmmm, still need him to do yard work, cancel that idea!

I have been cutting his toenails, he had them cut straight across and the corners were very sharp. Now he is cutting his own again and he says they are not sharp!

He won't wear socks.

He would laugh at going to the spa!

He regularly uses Gold Bond lotion on his heels.

Dismember him? Haven't ruled that out totally!

So far I like declawing him the best. Will have to ask about vets near us.

The thing is, I can hear him "clawing" the sheet at night and let him know he's doing it.

Oh well, just another wrinkle in our 50 years together!

Im buying my sheets from Sams club and really like them

I got a set of very high count, soft cotton sheets which DH put his toes through within a week. I don't get those any more. I get tougher sheets and no problems.

At a certain age it becomes an issue-- proper toe nail trimming. I would take him to the mall for a pedicure monthly. I'm considering same for me.

A Microplane foot file is the best for removing callouses from heels. I have a problem with heel callouses when I am in the desert, and I use this file after I come in from the pool or spa. I have one in L.A. also, but the humidity is much different here, and so my heels do not get so dry.

I also recommend getting sturdier sheets. I got some from Rough Linen that I like a lot, and they are very durable. The only problem is that I have to iron them.

It makes me wonder though, why does my side get a hole when I always wear socks to bed? What the heck am I doing during the night? HAHA!

Is he a stomach sleeper?

I get that on my dog's side of the bed. i have qn size but use a twin size top sheet. she doesn't need a top sheet.

I checked his feet today. No rough heels, no sharp toe nail edges! Sleeps on his side. Arkansas girl, good question. 🤣

have him put on some ankle socks or just bandage the toes!
