Hi Carol, I do it in Picasa, just choose however many pictures you want 2, 4 or more and then send it to collage..then you arrange your pictures and just enlarge them to fit the collage box..so simple even I can do it!!..no extra software needed. Basically, I love Picasa except for the nasty little habit it has of when you send pictures to your albums they normally go to the end of the album..sometimes it makes a mistake and they end up somewhere in the middle of the albums and throws off the sequence and that is what messes up my pictures sometimes in these posts.. I go back to check and there is a different picture there..very frustrating since you can't at that time fix it..if you move one, they all get messes up... But since I have about 7,000 pictures, (not all hippies) I'm not going to change at this point..it doesn't happen all that often... You can also write text on the picture, very simple... Donna

Rita, I have become a firm believer in moving a daylily if it is not doing well. As I've mentioned in several posts, my mother and I live next door (even if it is a country block away) from each other, and have several of the same daylilies. It is amazing the difference in performance from one yard to the next! If Mom's is doing good and mine is not, it goes on my move list. I had a Sabine Baur that had barely bloomed for two years, and what it did show was awful. I moved it last fall, to a place that wasn't prime, but I am running out of room, and it just wasn't cutting it where it was. This year it has been wonderful! The funny thing was, the lilies around it in it's original spot are thriving. I think sometimes they just get fussy about where they are put and will pout until they are moved. I am becoming a little more ruthless when it comes to plants I don't like, but still very few have made it all the way out into the woods (I have an unlanscaped clearing that I call my burial ground). And I could never (cringing) give one completely away without keeping just a little part. Maybe if some of my seedlings don't improve, but still... ;) Julie

Hey! Don't despair! It's quite likely it's got nothing to do with you or anything you're doing; it may well just be an issue there in that location that needs a bit of detective work to identify. A few questions that may help us get to the bottom of it: Can you have close look at the leaves, please, and tell us: - whether (what I think I see) the yellowing is starting in the leaf veins while surrounding leaf tissue remains green for a while, before turning yellow and dropping? - Is it the newer leaves mainly that are yellow, getting better/greener as they get older, or vice versa - the young leaves normal/green, but yellowing as they get older? - Also, how compacted clay-ey is that soil of yours? When it's dry, does it become almost rock hard? - If your home is new, is there a possibility there could be builders' rubble under your garden bed, eg lumps of concrete, bricks and so on, which could be leaching lime, making the soil in that area extra alkaline, esp after rain? - (Maybe others can answer this one; I'm def not an expert) - that yellow mottling of leaves wouldn't be Rose Mosaic Virus, would it? I have to confess that although Adelaide isn't really that far from Melbourne, I've never spent any real time there (in Melbourne). Everyone complains about the cold weather there, but I think that might just be Australians' idea of cold, which may not be quite the same as in places with actual cold climates! :-)

I have a large collection of paintings and photos in my living room. It is not easy to get it right, but when I do (to my eye), I am so happy because each piece means something to me. Some times cutting large pieces of paper to stand in for the sizes helps, since you can easily tape them to the wall. I always step away, close my eyes, the try to take a fresh look. Remember that perspective changes perception. Few, if anyone, are going to be standing right in front of the wall to look at the art. Enjoy it. It looks good!
