paint it white get one of the magnetic garage kits from amazon and put a warehouse/barn light over the door. Your house is not really farm house. so I might suggest adding a railing to the porch and handle rails to the steps to help get there.

Paint the vertical treatment over the garage door white. Leave the door as is for now.

What I think would be a huge improvement is to paint the front door AND the sidelights the same color. Black would be easiest. Add larger exterior sconces.

So I was thinking to paint the white vertical siding above garage to match the trim.. the large bay window white, and the front door with side lights all black, and I was gona switch the glass In the doors to hahe no design in them but maybe like a grid.. garage black too with white trim..eventually I will epoxy the porch and stairs..I wanted the columns wood, can you do all that with your design app? That would be amazing if you could, my husband is on me to choose the colors and I’m so scared I’m gona mess this all up lol

No to painting your garage door black. It is not a focal point. It will look like a huge black blob. It should blend in to your house.

no black garage, the space above the garage should be the color of the brick. I did sent a photo with the wood column in one of my first replies.

On your 1st posting for this project, Celery Visualization had posted the sketch below on the right which is perfectly balanced, from the black windows to black doors, nice large address numbers, wood columns and barn style sconces, and addional landscaping...

With a brown roof I would not due black, I would do a dark dark brown. And no to a black garage door. But I wouldnt paint the windows either. the black windows did not make it look farm house. I grew up in farm country, that is not a thing, its a fad.

I've owned at one time a grey siding house, black trim and brown roof house built by a renowed builder in a planned community and it was really nice, the whole community was colour coordinated and all looked great. You get all kinds of advice on this excchange platform but it's your house so you can do what you're comfortable with. I feel that Celery's visualization shows an excellent view of what your house can look like bringing it all together with an updated look that's not necessarily farmhouse but giving your house character. You can also install nice large lantern style sconces instead of the barn style one.

It looks to me like cedar posts will clash with your roof. So, stick with post color that matches your siding or your roof.

Sorry, I don’t think the black works. It’s too much of a contrast and has no relation to anything else. It makes everything look disjointed. Your original color looked much better, in my opinion.

The farmhouse look doesn’t have to be black and white with MCM. That’s a fad on it’s way out. I’d go in a more classic direction.

It's coming along... Your posts can also be black instead of wood. I'm not there in person but judging from your picture, I still think the windows would look good in black. I don't know if your sconces are new or not but they seem small to me, the height should be 1/4 to 1/3 of the height of the door. I suggest a black sconce above your garage door, and since you not going necessarily farmhouse perhaps a more modern downcast light would work, something like this (not too small).

Yes, its coming along. Now add the black trim windows, large black numbers, cedar posts, and tall black planters, as suggested. New bigger sconces. Beautiful!
