Thanks for the advice on peg organizers. We don’t have enough upper cabs for glassware so need to use a drawer for them.

How tall are your glasses? Both of those drawers seem a bit deep to store glasses unless you're stacking them (which I wouldn't want to do in my house, but we have kids who aren't always super careful putting dishes away!) We have our plates in a middle drawer just like this one and really like that. We use the lower drawer for pots and pans so it isn't opened as often. Also curious about why your middle drawer is taller than the lower. Is that an intentional difference or just the specs of your particular cabinet line? (Not sure it's enough to make much difference in what is stored where, but I'd probably put glassware in the shallower of the two drawers.) We don't have many uppers either but keep some of our glassware on an open shelf (mugs that get used enough that dust isn't a big issue) and some in a shallow top drawer, which I like because they can be stored upside down individually. Both drawers have liners so the plates and glasses don't bonk around when the drawers open and close, which was important (didn't have those initially!)

Artemis, thank you for the comment! I think the drawers will be equal but anyway, you make a great point about measuring the height of the glassware! We will only be stacking dishes and I was thinking to use dividers for the glassware. What liners do you recommend?

Honestly, I think ours just came from IKEA, or maybe the Container Store? Can't remember but they are definitely not fancy, and came in a roll that we cut to size for each drawer. But we've had them at least 10 years and they have held up fine, and get the job done. (They mostly just keep things from sliding around.) I had planned to get the peg dividers for our drawers, but never got around to ordering them and somehow a decade slipped by. At this point they don't really seem necessary for our setup, but might help if you're storing glassware in a way that a glass might fall over if its neighbor is missing.

As far as using drawer liners go. I have two deep drawers where I store dishes. One has a liner; the other does not. Dishes do not slide around in either drawer.

I am a fan of Cushy Cupboards liner. Especially with glassware that you will be storing facing down. The glasses’ rims will be protected from any abrasion, especially on thinner wine glasses, but all types of glasses too. And for dishes, nothing moves on this liner.

I have "spongy" liner in all of my drawers, works great and nothing moves around. My dishwasher is opposite from my dish drawers, so I matched them in height....glasses are up top like the top tier, bowls in the middle and plates at the bottom. I would never go back to storing dishes in upper cabinets...love it! I measured my tallest everyday glass and had the cabinet maker make the top drawer for that height, then divided the remaining space in 1/2 for the bottom 2.

Where are folks finding Cushy Cupboards these days? I LOVE the stuff and would love to buy it for my new cabinets, but I was told the product has been discontinued. I've searched for a suitable replacement but have yet to find anything remotely as good as Cushy Cupboards!

@Julie K I tried to find Cushy Cupboards too with no luck. I ended up using Easy Liner (Lowes), which comes in different dimensions. And then I used cork to line the utensil and pots/pans drawers, which I love because it is more cushiony and stays in place better becasue it is ridgid.

Wow, I had no idea that Cushy Cupboard liners were discontinued. I put mine in a few years ago, and have a roll or two left. There are other liners that are similar. I believe "Duck" is one - they make a couple liners so try to get the one that is soft. Bed Bath & Beyond sells the "Con-Tact" brand so you could go see those in person.

@theresa21, thanks for sharing your suggestions. I want something washable like Cushy Cupboards, so cork isn't an option for me. There's no Lowes near my house but I'll see if I can find a store that carries it so I can compare it to CC.

@M Miller, I've looked at similar liners at Home Depot, BBB, Home Goods, Container Store, Ace Hardware, and many others.

I've seen the Duck version as well as Con-Tac and nothing comes close to the quality/durability/cleanability of my beloved CC which I've had in two homes! I'm a huge fan of the product and currently have it in all my cabinets/drawers throughout my entire house!
