I have just remodeled two baths and chose to leave the large mirrors. In the master bath we have two sinks and installed 2 new lights above each. Each of the lights has three lights to it. In the other bathroom, we actually ended up cutting down the height of the mirror since we raised the vanity counters up to kitchen height. We didn't move the light up, just left it at the same height. In fact I took the one we had in there and painted it with a krylon paint that matches my new ceiling light in that room. I liked the light I had and so painting it worked great and save money. In the master, since I used to have only one long light with individual sconces, we had to have new wiring for over each sink. So they just moved the light places up higher thus leaving the mirror the same height. I just looked at my pics of these and realized that you can't see the lights very good due to them being on and a flashback glare. I will take some new ones tomorrow and post each for you to see. I am planning to frame both of these mirrors with wooden trim to make them look like a big framed mirror. I just haven't gotten to it yet.

Thanks, sabjimata, akchicago, cilantro, and pinch me. I think I am going to stick with the right-side installation and center my faucet, even though it means the stream will never reach my drain. Anyone who wants to scream "Nooooooo!" at this point, please feel free... (notwithstanding pinch me's great point about marching to my own drummer, which can never be said enough... thank you, pinch me!) akchicago, your points about pull-out/pull-down sprayers vs. side sprayers are all right on the money. I was actually aware of the disadvantages of side sprayers -- thanks to this site -- and bought one anyway. Why? Because when the end of the faucet's nozzle is a spray head, and its spout is harboring a spray hose, the whole thing becomes quite beefy and contemporary-looking, and my husband didn't think it would look right in our 125-year-old kitchen. So form won over function this round, and I am okay with that... though I'm sure to have the occasional pull-out envy when my thumb gets sore from pushing down on that little button... Still trying to decide if it's okay to cheat the faucet an inch or two left of center (to align with center of window pair), now that I will have the drain on the right. I mean, if the stream's not going to hit the drain anyway, does it matter where it hits? Or is there a reason to keep it as close to the drain as possible, even if it's no cigar? Thoughts?

I have the same set-up and that's the best arrangement for a small room. I like having the windows clear for accessibility and to enjoy a beautiful unobstructed window. In your case the large white chair is blocking the window quite a bit. I think two white slip-covered pieces are too bulky for the size of the room. It looks like it could be a comfy bedroom chair though, so I'd replace it with a small non-upholstered chair that will also work when you install the built-ins. I like your table lamps and would keep them.

i know you dont want uppers around the window. But the dishwasher is to the left of the sink probably because that upper that is close is where the dishes go. If you put uppers by the windows and give one extra cabinet to the right of the sink with associated upper, you will get a ton more usable space. This will mean when you put the dishwasher to the right you can easily put dishes into the uppers above it. There also wont be the question of how far up to put the backsplash. Agree with everyone about drawers, especially deep pot drawers on either side of the range. But everywhere else too. You can also put a garbage drawer to the left of the sink. Make sure the stove is induction, slightly more pricey but way more functional
