Kitchen Cabinets - Which Ones?
Comments (3)will67 - was wondering if you ever got a response back on which cabinet box/line to go with or if you have already ordered your cabinets. I am in a similar predictament. I have receive quotes for both the Dura Supreme Crestwood in furniture and plywood box construction. Price difference of about $2100. For Medallion, all plywood construction box, quote came in between the two. About $300 higher then Dura's furniture box. Another decision I have is for a pantry (under our staircase to upstairs) with bi-doors measuring 5' by 5' that Dura can do, but not Medallion. The estimated quote the KD gave us was $1,356 (have not recvd exact quote from Dura yet). Don't know if I should try to find someone who can match/make them after the fact or go with Dura. Any suggestions/feedback would be greatly appreciated....See MoreHelp me decide which cabinet to get from these two options pls
Comments (26)So I prefer the second door over the first. Traditional wooden mullions fit with the second door, not the first, in my opinion. If you had mullions with the first door, the interior edges are not routed, so the mullions wouldn't be either, correct, so that would look kind of clunky to me (just straights sticks of wood with no edge detail), I don't know if I'ver ever seen it like that? And I'm wondering if that's why it's not offered. With the second door having the interior routed edge, that's also how your mullion would be, keeping it from looking awkward. I would be leery of stark white, though, just a preference, I know there are many others who love it and can make it look great for their space, I just prefer softer white. From the photos shown, I can't see a difference though. I had a hard time choosing to do mullions or not as well. Ultimately I chose not to. I got wavy glass to add extra interest and I'm pleased with my choice. I would definitely not call the second one fussy if that's your hesitation. Although mullions will make it look more traditional. If you had that second door and plain glass, I would call that maybe transitional if I had to put a label on it, still think it can be simple style depending on whatever else you use....See MoreMaster bath: One sink or two? One large wall mirror or two mirrors?
Comments (19)I recently remodeled and changed the double sinks for one sink plus a nice area where I can sit down for my ablutions. I wanted the increased counter space as well as the increased storage space. I don't spend that much time over a sink anyway so I don't see what the big deal is to have one sink. I especially think it is ridiculous when I see two sinks crammed into a small vanity with a tiny bit of counter space - so big deal you have a dysfunctional bathroom space but you have two sinks. I remodeled for my needs and my aesthetic vision. I am not planning to move and if someone doesn't like it, they can fairly easily just reconnect the plumbing and add the second sink. In terms of mirror treatment, I did a ceiling to counter wall to wall mirror but then put two different mirror treatments above the sink and the "grooming area". The wall to wall mirrors lightens and enlarges my rather small space and the two different mirror treatments differentiate it as well. I also have two Art Deco style sconces above the sink and a version a makeup lighting above the grooming sit down area....See MoreFloating shelves next to 36 inch hood? Yes or No?
Comments (15)does any place else in the room have shiplap? shiplap tends to be more of a country style look. (see above pic w/the glass doors) I mean, I don't see your kitchen as being overly mcm. Looks like gray shaker cabs? or are they white? in any case, mcm doesn't really come into play here this is mcm these last two are similar to your stove wall w/an off-set window. In fact, this set up is exactly like yours. look at the one wall w/no cabs and the vent like you want. I like the larger window too. Seems to me like you have adequate storage. is that one upper cabinet going to make or break it for you?? How wide is the island? can you put storage on the overhang side? where's the micro? what are those tall cabinets on the left side?...See Morechiflipper
