Kitchen Cabinets - Which Ones?

We have decided to completely gut our kitchen and rebuild with new cabinets. We've been doing some shopping and trying to educate ourselves. We have a design pretty close.

I'm looking for opinions on quality and durability difference between two lines in particular right now.

We are comparing the Medallion Designer line and the Dura Supreme Crestwood line.

The Medallion Designer series:

Furniture board case components with 1/2" sides, tops and bottoms.

3/4" solid hardwood dovetailed drawers.

3/4" adjustable shelving.

Ball bearing drawer slides as standard.

Dura Supreme Crestwood:

Plywood case components with 3/8" sides, tops and bottoms.

5/8" solid hardwood dovetailed drawers.

3/4" adustable shelving.

Soft close drawers with full extension as standard.

As a comparison using the same basic design and number of components, the Medallion comes in around $1000 less than the Dura Supreme. Both have doors and finishes we like.

Firstly, are the differences in construction noteworthy enough to warrant the difference in money?

Secondly, the upgraded drawer slides of the Dura Supreme seem very nice. Does this combined with the construction difference make them worth the extra money?

I'm really interested in the opinions of construction mostly. Thanks in advance for your help.
