Sometimes it's not all about the cabinets. It's about the company in your area that sells them. So have you gotten quotes from showrooms/designers in your area? They will usually do a quick consult and design for free, and this will give you insight into whether you like not only the cabinets, but, may give you very clear winners or losers in terms of businesses you'd want to work with. You really can't guess about prices. They are truly incomprehensible.

Any door that opens to the right will hit the side wall, which includes French door and SxS units. That may cause some obstruction on fully opening crisper or meat/deli drawers, depending on the design of individual models. It probably will prevent removal of the drawers (for cleaning or service) since the door(s) typically must be open to nearly 180° to facilitate removal for the drawer(s) to clear the edge of the door and/or protruding door shelves ... unless the refrigerator is pulled forward when needed so the right-side door can swing into the dining room doorway. My SxS is next to a pantry door that is set at an angle. The left-side freezer door hits the pantry door knob. The freezer baskets are just barely obstructed from pulling fully out, they run into the freezer door gasket, although it's not enough to impair functionality and the clearance is such that I can slightly pull the baskets to the right to clear the gasket if necessary. Opening the pantry door allows the freezer door to swing open enough to fully clear the gasket. Pics below. You will have more obstruction for the door swing on the right since your wall is at a 90° angle. My sister ran into the same situation at the existing house they recently bought. A Kenmore (Samsung- or LG-sourced) French door refrigerator came with the house and has a full-width crisper drawer and separate deli/meat drawer. The unit has to be pulled forward from normal position for the left-side door to open enough to remove the drawers for cleaning or service.

Cabinets are a bit ridiculous in the pricing. There are clear differences between expensive and cheap. But expensive is just ridiculous for what you get (IMO). I have (and I suspect a lot of people have) lived with cheap stuff (apartments, new rental townhouse), Ikea, and moderately expensive (Kitchencraft). I really hate cheap drawers. But we put them in a rental house (Aristokraft). Ikea is probably the closest thing to a Toyota Corolla. The Corolla is a horrible car that is technologically inferior to every competitor. It is the number one selling small car. It hasn't changed significantly in 20 years (unlike Ikea) and it is bullet proof because of that - which has value for people who view cars as appliances (which I agree, they are). I just installed J&K in a rental. This is a Chinese import brand that is going to make Sophie blow her top. It is RTA and the A is usually done by the distributor. It has soft close everything and full extension drawers. It uses something that looks like plywood for the box but is more like a hybrid of OSB and plywood. It is shockingly inexpensive. The finish is pretty darn good. It has less choices than a Toyota Corolla.... Fillers are a necessary evil. We yanked 30 year old custom cabinets out that had huge fillers. Not sure why they did that in custom - perhaps a design element. But fillers are needed for door swings, in corners etc. Yes - with true custom, they can be optimized and only used when truly needed. Annoying? Depends on your viewpoint. Less aesthetically pleasing - sure. Go to a cabinet showroom, go to Ikea. Lots of research is needed here. Have to decide if the extra $30k is worth it to you.

liking the white and light brown ...altho it is light-med brown. I like some of the grain and feel of wood to show....that's just me I guess. Seems more forgiving than painted islands when you get a scratch/nick/scrape on paint....but it seems people go all in for paint on islands. The gray is my least favorite. I'd do a darker wood stain before paint I think. Good Luck.....there is something for everyone these days!!!!
