one over mirror light for 72' vanity
Comments (5)There are 2 sinks that share the same drain. So they are mounted closer together, about 15" apart, with drawers at both ends of the vanity. I was also thinking of not enough lighting, hence I am leaning towards 4 light fixture. But some of those light fixtures looks huge, and I don't want to over power the smallish room with its presence. There will also be 2 recessed lights on the ceiling, but those are centered in the room (size about 80 sqft and 86" ceiling), not over the vanity....See MorePlease show me your makeup vanity:)
Comments (26)Just a follow-up...we had to lower the lighted makeup mirror on the side wall because it was set too high. I'm glad I dropped the backsplash and mirror down. It was recommended to me to continue the backsplash from the sink vanity across and do one large mirror - I'm glad I didn't do that. Since I am short I wouldn't have been able to see myself in the mirror. I can just see my head and the top of my shoulders in the current set-up while I am sitting. If I had to do it all over, I think I would've just done a backsplash just at the sink vanity. Then I would've had the mirror come all the way down at the makeup area without a backsplash/sidesplash. That way I'd be able to see all of my hair (my hair is long). Then on DH's side I would've just done a backsplash and no sidesplash to match. If anyone decides to do this, make sure the granite fabricators know so they can do a nice clean cut where there is no backsplash/sidesplash. Comments (16)Hi boxerpups, I'm glad you like them. I do think they would look nice in your space. I love that they are pretty without being too overwhelming. They are nice and small... which I had a hard time finding something I liked (with the right price because we needed 5). Since we were putting them up in multiple, I didn't want something too big. They are a dark bronze, which I think blends nicely with our dark grayish/black counters. I'm sure you could spray paint them with a matte black if you wanted them to be a true black. Luckily at $19, you could test one. Here is photo of the pendants as they came originally... the original shades were a bit bigger in diameter. The clear glass shades I ended up swapping were also from Lowes for $3. If I remember correctly, they may have been in the section with the glass bathroom shades (on the same aisle as the rest of the lights at our Lowes)....See MoreI’ll Show You Mine/You Show Me Yours 7/2
Comments (34)I did go to Hamburger Mary's and dated one of the bartenders there. In 1974 I lived on Valencia Street with some of the Cockettes, and in 1977, I was hired by Dennis Peron to work as a baker at Island Restaurant at 16th Sanchez Streets. At that time I was living two blocks away, and so I could easily walk to work, although as a baker, I had to work the graveyard shift. I lived in several different neighborhoods, including North Beach (1972), Eureka Valley, the Haight, Buena Vista Hill, Hayes Valley, but mostly close to Dolores Park. I used to go to concerts all the time, at The Old Waldorf, The Stone, Bimbos, The Kabuki Theater, etc. For me, it was the best place to see European groups, which were my favorites at the time, but I also saw Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young at the Fillmore. I saw Hot Tuna there as well, but in the 1980s, I mostly went to see European Groups, too many to name. I did see Grace Jones at the Old Waldorf plus U2 with Romeo Void, and The Clash with The English Beat. I saw Siouxsie and the Banshees at I-Beam on Haight Street during a full lunar eclipse. Here's a picture showing one of my roommates from Valencia Street - she is the one on the left on the floor....See Moreklb9596
