Exterior paint ideas 70s modern house
Comments (12)I really like the color it is, but understand not wanting the pink tones. I’d stay in the brown family, and keep the brick as is. It’s organic and in keeping with the surroundings, which is important with this style architecture. If you haven’t already, do some research on this wonderful style of house … embrace it’s heritage. It’s a really nice one. :) Unfortunately, too many across the country are disappearing under heavy ”updates”. (I don’t mean you’re doing that, just the current trend of trying to remove the ’70’s charm and history of these homes.)...See MoreExterior paint ideas
Comments (9)I'm okay with shutters, but these are too short and too narrow to look right, and missing one by the front door looks odd. Instead, beef up the trim around the windows. When you drive around, do you see house colors that really appeal to you? There are lots of exterior colors that will work with your paver stone and roof. I agree with sage greens, green gray, a warm blue gray, and also a buckskin tan would probably look nice. You want to be sure to have colors on warm side of the spectrum. I loved my house when it was painted Glidden High Tea - I wonder if that is still in the paint matching systems. Go to the major paint brands websites and use their color visualizer tools to try out various colors for siding and trim!...See MoreExterior paint ideas / help
Comments (9)The garage doors look like black holes, particularly in the first picture. I don't think the eaves need to be painted brown, either. There is nothing wrong with the style of the garage doors, so you don't need to replace them. Paint them a lighter color. Just make sure you know what kind of surface you're painting and prepare it properly so the paint doesn't peel off in six months (this happened to someone I know who used a pro). See if you can find a color for the garage door and eaves that goes with the existing siding. That way you could save yourself from having to paint the siding. I am not 100% sure about the colors since photos can be deceptive, but maybe BM Waynesboro Taupe 1544 is worth a try....See MoreExterior Paint Ideas
Comments (9)@lisedv thank you that’s beautiful! My goal is not to repaint all 4 sides of the house since I do like the existing color. But I know it’ll need painted once the shutters and house numbers come off which is how I got on this whole idea train. The long flower box is an idea I’ve been trying to figure out for years! Eve. These small boxes are so heave and tricky to manipulate hanging out the window…maybe 4 small ones all in a row. I don’t trust myself lugging a heavy planted flower box up a ladder! Loving these ideas!...See Moreffpalms
