I said I wasn't going to!
Comments (7)kcclark, Thanks for the suggestion about keeping leaves in the fridge. Actually, I have a huge selection of milkweed within 10 steps of my back or front door. I can get fresh leaves from outside nearly as quickly as I could from the fridge. I raised around 50 cats last year at multiple different ages. All the ones I have now are within a few days of one another, so it should be even simpler. In fact, they might be just about ready to eclose for the first week or so of school. I can send them to school with my kids. Martha...See Morewhirlpool fridg. defrost help with how-to clear line
Comments (11)Not surprised. We have a 1 year and 7 month old Whirlpool Bottom Mount and are having what Whirlpool believes to be the same problem (they are wrong - I know it is the fan or control panel). When I called them they told me that a simple manual defrost was all that was necessary. Well that worked for 2 days then we were back with ice again - along with sounds like gun shots. Then we were going away for 2 weeks - not a chance I was about to risk that, so we unplugged it. On our return we plugged it back in and 2 days later we were back to ice and water everywhere. The same day the technician was coming. We are still working on the problem - yet they refuse to look at the control panel or the fan. The second tech did put a piece of copper wire in - although on Saturday the fridge stopped working entirely for a few hours - I am afraid to put anything in to the freezer - bread was totally defrosted. Kicked back on - waiting for the next tech - they are going to replace the side rails and the back panel since it is totally warped due to the ice - would it be so hard to check the fan or control panel (we had this same problem with out GE fridge and it seems to be a problem with current Whirlpool fridges). I saw your problem referenced on the Whirlpool Fridge Problems forum. Hope everything works out for you - but I wouldn't go away without unplugging that fridge and - as I did - leaving the doors ajar!...See MoreNew things we're all growing (or attempting to) winter '15/spring '16
Comments (32)A few more updates.. Within the last couple of days, two sapodilla seeds have sprouted, and just today, I saw that two of the Peruvian apple cacti had sprouted, but they were right behind the plant tag, and I didn't see them until moving the tag. I've also got some white pitaya (dragon fruit) seedlings that have been sprouting over the last week or so. I'd all but gave up on many of these things, but I guess there is some hope for things that haven't sprouted so far. Still hoping for some A. Reticulata, A. Squamosa, Mexican cream guavas, purple star apple, blackberry jam fruit, phalsa berries, and jujubes that I'd recently planted (after cracking the shell and soaking in hot water for several days, with several water changes) from a seedling tree I had. So far, I've also had 4 out of the 7 chestnut seeds sprout. So, the final number that will have sprouted will be between 4 and 7. I'll probably propagate them in larger numbers next season, as long as I can verify the type and where they were grown. If nothing else, I could use them as rootstock for grafting. Lastly, I planted out the new unframed no-till (back to Eden) raised bed with two cassava plants and five sweet potato plants. I'll probably go back in after all of this rain and flooding and fill in the area with peanuts as well. It has a higher sand content than any of my other beds....See MoreFreaking out about counter-depth fridge sticking out past pantry cabs!
Comments (112)Post a photo of the copy of the approved plan they were supposed to build to. Does it show deeper sides with the adjacent counters butting into them? Enough room for 24.375 plus the 2 inches behind so that the sides of the refrigerator BOX can be installed flush with the front of the cabinetry? Normally a cabinet shop would make this allowance or at least go over the options and differences. But if someone else did the design and it was adhered to, you don't have much to stand on. Also, is the opening the correct height because the hinges not fitting into the opening (like the photo above) can keep it from going back as well? Did you by chance consider another refrigerator that would fit properly? That might be the easiest and most economical way to address the issue. Switch them up and sell the first one. And to the guy that commented about "custom shops" ordering components, this is a common practice throughout the industry. It's very rare to find a cabinet shop that builds every part of a cabinet anymore and as long as what is ordered is of acceptable quality and fits, what's the problem?...See Morenancyofnc
