Hard to choose just one as there are so many decorative items I use and love but my various silver accessories are always in use. I've collected mostly silver plated holloware but a few sterling candle holders for years and have a lot. I use the small plates as coasters, the various trays for vignettes, the large trays for serving, and have even hung medium size trays on the wall in a grouping. Here are 3 items (pic taken to show my yard sale finds one day). I think each of these items was $5 proving that cost is not the important factor in beauty or versatility.

Olychick...I saw those table/murphy beds and like them. But since I'm using all the space for working out on the floor when guests aren't there, it would get in the way. I have a very similar look full size murphy bed in the 2nd bedroom in the main house...which is my office but I can turn down the small murphy bed there too. It looks a lot like your photo...bright white with silver handles...people keep pulling the handles, thinking they are drawers... I should say, the main house has a master bedroom and a bedroom I've turned into an office but have the above murphy bed for emergencies. My husband passed away recently so it is just me and my dog. I spent the last whole year remodeling this house from the ground up..it is right on the beach with big ocean views from every window. The house is such that I have "private space" for my master and bath so people can come in the kitchen and living room without bothering me. I get a lot of company during the summer. Annie...your comments make me think I should put a second small dresser in the room just for the dresser top...But I use the laptop in bed or on the sofa for cards/tv. So nobody thinks the sofa is a good idea? It is a tight fit.

I have almost the same question and situation...except that I am perplexed by light brown scratches that don't appear to be in the top of the finish. I bought a used round mahogany pedestal table with leaf made by a to-the-trade company called Ebanista. The top has pie-crust veneer of what looks like quarter-sawn (ribbon) mahogany, separated by straight sections. It is relatively recently made; the company is only 15 years or so old, I think. So, no worries about ruining any value of an antique. The finish is lacquer. I saw the scratches, and although I didn't want to take on a strip-and-refinish project, I bought it hoping I could buff the scratches out of the finish, wax it with brown wax, and call it a day. Of course in the light of day and with plenty of time to inspect closely, it was worse than I hoped. I cleaned it with Natural Orange surfactant cleaner, then mineral spirits, and buffed it with Zaino auto compound for light scratches (water based). Didn't help at all. It has some very large gouges that are completely in the finish, but there are also these light-brown colored scratches with areas that don't seem to be in the top surface at all, when I look across at eye level. How can that be?

I have this Hooker pedestal round table in my kitchen eating area and love the color it is a light/medium walnut....so pretty....the finish on top is indestructible.....I added black chairs with upholstered seat cushion but for your area I would add ivory chairs..so many to choose from painted or upholstered. the 60” fits 6 Chairs very nicely. .
