It would depend on what tablet you were going to purchase for some of the info and what size it would be. I would not do it with a 7" or 10" tablet just too small in my opinion. but yes you can add a keyboard and mouse to a tablet or at least many of them, you would have to make certain they have multiple usb ports for that. The keyboards on the tablets can be awkward to use for any extended time. I do not think that netbooks will go away, they have newer models coming out with more stout processors in them and many now run windows 7. I have an acer netbook one of the first ones so mine is a little smaller than the ones out now, I love it but would not want it for my only computer, I use a usb mouse with it because I hate touchpads. Netbooks have no cd or dvd drive and neither do tablets so you have to use usb flash drives or have an external usb cd or dvd drive to plug in should you need to. Printing can be done if you have a printer that is networked, plugged into your router or you can use it by usb plugged into the tablet or netbook. If you have to install software for the printer that would have to be done either by download from their website or by usb flash drive or as I said a usb stand alone cd or dvd drive. I have not installed printer software on a netbook or tablet so can not help with that, however I just got a new laser printer delivered today and I hope to network it so that my netbook will be able to use it and since I have a wireless router I should be able to use any wifi enabled device that can print to print to it. If you really do not do much heavy work at all then you could probably get by. Again it would depend on the tablet. Do you have one in mind? Many of the bigger ones will cost you more than a laptop or netbook. Prices will of course drop on them since so many are now hitting the market. I love the looks of motorola zoom, and like the looks of the blackberry playbook also nice is the Acer Iconia, I prefer an Android based tablet myself, preferably one that is running the newest Android Honeycomb OS. but again I sure would not want a 7" or 10" main use tablet. I have the pandigital novel 7" tablet which I love and to me it is perfect for ereader use and I can do most of what I want to do on it including email, surf, music, pictures and video but would never think of using it for a primary device. OK, the car story is funny. When I heard Sharon & Clive were driving route 66 in a TBird convertible, I was thinking it was a '57 or perhaps an early 60's model. (my dad was/is a collector, I just assumed theirs would be an older model.) So I thought it would be fun to borrow one of my dad's cars for the day, to fit in with the whole Route 66 thing and park next to theirs. I'm almost to the restaurant, and I call Sharon to ask what year their car is. "2002". LOL!!! I laughed at myself and my incorrect assumption for a good 5 minutes.

Anyway, I wanted the newel just 1 step up, same as it would be if we had a bullnose step and volute/turnout, they could still notch it out to snug up to 2nd tread. But 1st guy didn't want to do that, wanted permnission in writing from building inspector (and now 9 months later I'm even more reluctant to go asking), 2nd guy never got back to me after coming out for a quote and nodding his head yes the whole time, and my cousin who has been doing all the trim in my house (and building new window jambs and stools where the builder didn't do them right) says that he doesn't want to do it, even if we put blocking under the first tread. I guess when they're on the floor they actually are attached to a joist? I showed him pics of crazyhouse6's newel and he didn't think it would hold up to lateral forces (swinging), though it was fine for someone just pulling straight on it. So what do you think of my newel options? Which should I choose? It will be 2 weeks to get the oak contemporary newel that I posted first. The 2.5 x 3.5 blocks of cherry are here, just need to get cousin to cut and route them, I can put clear finish on and get them up but I don't know how they look with oak rail. My favorite is still the vertical volute with a newel somewhere near the bottom, but I haven't even thought of balusters (BC newel and rail with oak balusters?), and I need to find someone to install it.

@alsconsulting That is a lot of wrong in one post! A bedroom window doesn't have to be 48" wide, that is patently ridiculous! Even doors don't have to be 48" wide. Neither MLS or realtors normally check the tax roll. In most areas they will determine how to list your home during an inspection. There is no liability for the listing as every listing has a disclaimer. I have no idea what your closet thing means. So far as I know there is no closet requirement at all. I have sold several houses that were more than 100 years old with furniture wardrobes and they didn't need a closet. Moreover, I don't know what "weight bearing," is. I mean you are going to hang clothes on it, so it is going to be weight bearing. I assume you meant load bearing, but you should just quit while you are behind.
