Eden rose supposed to pink but so far looks white

My Pierre de Ronsard (Eden) rose is easily six feet tall and covered with blooms but they are all white. Of course it is lovely but I thought it would be that amazing two tone color with pink in the center. Do you think I got the wrong color or is this normal in certain conditions?

Oh I wonder if you got White Eden ? At least you know it isn't Red Eden. Can you contact the company you bought it from and get a positive ID ?

We had a strange spring weather this year. It was either too cold or too hot. I noticed some roses got slightly different colors. At our local nurseries the Eden roses are very pale, almost white. Here is a picture of my friend’s Eden for reference. She planted it last year.

I'm keeping an eye on the grandiflora Dream Come True. I potted it up in a 20-gallon container to haul around for pruning demos next winter as I wasn't really sure what to expect from another J&P 'new' rose. So far I like the long-lasting blooms and the way the bloom goes to a neon pink. It even has a scent. Hands down, though, is the found tea called Odee's Pink. That one hasn't been out of bloom since I picked it up in a rose auction in February. Although the color reminds me of Souvenir de la Malmaison, the blooms are smaller and the bush is a flopper. Again, it's potted up but not for traveling. I ran out of space and time for digging until it cools down again.

Carol- What a great selection! I like the white, cream and yellow roses together. I can see why they'd be less distracting with your ocean view :) I'm getting two Trier roses for my arbor in the potager. They don't get really tall, but they also shouldn't take over that part of the potager LOL. I'm putting them on two posts and Emerite beans (lavender flowers) and purple pole beans (purple flowers) together, on the other two posts. I'm hoping that will look nice together! Your sweet peas and pole beans will look very pretty on the wire fencing. I can't wait to see photos :) Oh, and thanks for the rose recommendations. Between the horses and home-based business, I rarely get away, but I do have friends that go down there...I'll let them know!

I'm not sure what Pink Eden is. There is no such named rose, as far as I know. If you are talking about the climbing rose also known as 'Pierre de Ronsard,' then I can generally observe that a number of posters have complained that it is not very floriferous. Mine usually had a lovely spring flush and then more limited re-bloom the rest of the season, sometimes with long rest periods between bloomings. Some posters complained their Eden was essentially a one-season (spring) bloomer with no re-bloom at all. I'm wondering also if this rose resents severe pruning. Mine was getting rather overgrown and the canes really thick and inflexible, so I tried a severe pruning--to encourage new growth. It did put out some new growth, but it didn't appear very happy and made almost no progress during the next couple years--didn't even get tall enough to "climb" anything and produced no blooms. So I finally spaded it and planted a new one--which also is not growing very fast but at least looks very healthy and thriving. Hopefully by next spring I'll get the big show-piece that Eden always was in the past. No more severe pruning of Eden, however--at least in my yard. Kate

berrypiez6b, Unfortunately the company is out of business. One Eden I purchased from them looks as it should but this one is almost pure white/cream.

Cuteleier, That photo is beautiful. Maybe mine will get a second flush with pink roses. Hopefully. Otherwise I lost a year with the wrong color and will plant a new rose. As beautiful as the white is, I didn't want white lol.

That is the challenge of buying a rose before it blooms. i always wonder if I really got the right one.

If you find that you want to get another , High Country may have Eden by Fall and you would get that extra growth head start in Spring.

On HelpMeFind I looked up Eden ; there were photos of very pale Eden roses. Mine just got planted I few days ago, now I wonder what I will have.
